Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Ported 4 numbers over to T-Mobile (calling, not online). 3 went through in about 30 minutes and one is still in limbo, going on 5 hours now. Called
but said have to wait 24 hours for the full port to transfer. Will see what happens overnight....
Are you switching from Sprint to TMO?

I'm currently on the free year plan, and about to sign up for another year with my wife's SN. I read through the whole thread when I signed up last year, and read through the wiki now and things look about the same.

Just one question:
When I call and set up the new account with my wife's SN, do they care if I'm setting it up on her behalf? Like, can I say "This is my wife's SN", or will they want to have her set it up herself?

Thanks for the help, great thread here. Already saved thousands on multiple lines for my extended family!
As long as you dont use the same phone number from your Sprint account.

New customer trying to port from mint to free plan before it ends. Read wiki and many pages here. Got SIM from Apple. Got account # and PIN from mint.
1) Is there a better time to call 866 number? Is it 24 hrs and any hours works better than others?
2) mint account number I got is 12 digits, looks pretty long - is that correct?
3) If I open an account now and port one number, is it possible to port another line on same account after April 3rd or promotion end date?

TIA

I want to port in an old phone as a placeholder for this promotion and swap in a better phone later. Is it still true that only Sprint-branded phones can be swapped in under this deal?

No, porting out then porting back to Sprint. Will be 3rd year.
Thought things were going great with the first 3 ports, and
thought this was going to be the easiest year yet. Well...not quite.

Thank you @comintel
Since this is a reseller, I'm assuming I should avoid those IMEIs that say "sprint service already activated" since they don't know if ti works on post paid or not (that's why he gave me all the IMEIs for the phones he had in stock).

Do the phones IMEIs that move on to the next screen "validate your SIM" mean that it could work? or at least a better chance of working? It's only $20 for the phone but I don't want to waste that money if I can find one that will work on sprint without too much hassle.
You can try this checker (which is for paid BYOD plans) as well
https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918
to check but yes, I think you will be fine with those latter phones especially.

I think you need to ask the reseller explicitly if it will work on Sprint itself, not just on Sprint MVNO's, especially if it says "Sprint network" rather than "Sprint" in the listing.

But they have zillions of these phones and if one wont work, another will, so as long as they have a good return policy, and a high EBay high rating, it will end up ok. Check RATING and RETURN POLICY carefully.

Also time is a factor. If you want to be really careful, I think you could get the IMEI before they ship and activate it sight-unseen before they ship it! If it has unusual issues, get them to ship a different one. They have poles of them.

Now just to tell you the whole story, some Sprint reps will reject these phones. But just tell then to "just try it" or call back and another will accept it.

Also these phones are being dropped by Sprint in a couple of months (since they are becoming obsolete with new network changes) just so you know. If it is already on by then, it can stay on though subject to future risk..

You might be better with an LG G5 (see Wiki and Desi's posts ) for around $50.

It's been posted on here that they were able to reuse the t mobile e sim. I just don't know about the details etc since I did not do it.
Yes. I know esim can be reused as reported by some, I am talking about physical sim, which has been used , but not adding $3 , if it can be reused?

It never was true.

We have swapped all sorts of phones from the start.

Your idea is problem-free.

I tried to switch today and i backed up. The customer service is the worst. Never been put on hold for 38 minutes until today by sprint customer service. And every 10 minutes he tells me to be patient while they are updating their system. Bad customer service ever
Are you sure you called the right number ending in 8777?

That is very unusual.

Then again, systems can fail occasionally.

Call again and if they say the same thing, ask exactly why.

Or call the credit dept direct at the number ending in 6116 in the Wiki and ask them.

Go to the tmo online portal page and enter the Sim number. Then click on the info symbol next to the entered number.

to prevent the hassle of the t-mobile e sim port dance, i purchased $1 H20 Wireless sims at Best Buy which includes their $30 plan for unlimited talk text and 6bg of data per month. so far i have transferred 2 numbers from sprint with no hiccups. i will line up my ducks to dive in for this most likely but hopefully not last round of the deal.
Hey Khan, did you wait the 5 days and supply 2 numbers or did h2o chat give you the account number and pin right away? Curious because i want to add one more phone and i have both tmo (free sim card from apple store) and h2o methods available. H2o of course being free and less chance of failed port.

So, who else thinks T-mobile is trying to slow down (or stop) all the porting lately, especially with the ending date of this Sprint plan nearing?

Just seems too much of a coincidence to me for a huge tele mobile company not to fix their online porting website for a week now.
