Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

First of all, Thank you everyone that is contributing to this thread!!

Here is the summary:

I have 3 phones plus 1 for a senior citizen. All enrolled in last year for one year free service. 4 Moto G6 Play.

Yesterday, Bought 4 digital sim from the ebay listing that said will ship on April 02. 2019. So I emailed the seller and he delivered it yesterday itself thru email. The price was $3.50.

Called up Sprint and got the account numbers and the PIN. Sprint asked why do you want the account number and I said just want to keep it. Called T mobile and gave the phone numbers with the ESIM ID and gave me temporary phone number, 4 separate account numbers and one PIN for all accounts. Two phone numbers ported out without any trouble. The other two account numbers had incorrect account number from Sprint and the T-mobile CS entered the mismatched account numbers. Called back Sprint and got the correct numbers and the T-mobile CS corrected the error that showed up in their dashboard. After entering the correct account number, all were ported to T-mobile. T-mobile charged me $4.47 each line to make it active and need to keep a balance as per the CS.

Checked with the Sprint eligibility by entering the IMEI No. and the phone numbers and all showed eligible. ( Mismatched account numbers were showing ineligible in the Sprint eligibility checker before). Called Sprint and started the porting. She asked me the IMEI No. and the ICCID. When the first one matched, she asked for the other 3 phones. Once she entered the IMEI No. for the rest, she read back to me the ICCID that was already in the system and I confirmed.

After that, she took the information of my wife (the first free was in my name) and processed the porting. Also, waived the activation fee and since I opted for auto pay, she waived the $5.00 on each account.

Once the porting was successful from T-mobile, I restarted the Moto G6 Play and got a message that "Network update Successful". Successfully, made the calls and texts. The CS stayed over the phone until all the phone were successfully made the calls. At her end, it was showing successful porting but at my end, there was a hiccup of not updating the phone fast enough.

Initially, the CS said the monthly estimated fee will be around $7.00 and then did some calculations and said Its less than $4.00.

Sprint will extend one more month as a compliment, that means 13 months of service. The CS didn't push for any additional services.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again to all of you. Keep the good work. ApplauseApplause

Quick update to the issue. Somehow one of the reps i called moved my account to older system where account number is phone number. Called Sprint once i heard this and tried giving phone number and pin and it worked to port back in. So luckily it turned out fine and didn't need to go to store. Thanks again for the inputs.
So that was nice if the rep to move it to the older system so that you could guess the account number!

I guess that is a workaround if reps are willing to move it to the older system!

Sounds good, and not to be a cynic, but I would check that Sprint Complete did not get "accidentally" added to any of the lines. That often happens. If you do not know where to look, you can just Chat and ask them to look and to remove it if it is there. Chat is the way to do it - best not call TeleSales to check..

I'm thinking of trying this out and the wiki mentions some devices are compatible with Sprint's data during a call. I'm going to bring an iPhone 8 and X over but it would appear this will not work based on the mention of devices being Android. Is it possible to get it working through Sprint adding the feature or is it a system-wide limitation? Same with visual voicemail on iPhones? Should be able to live without the features for the savings.

Also, since the devices I'd be bringing are direct Apple unlocked Verizon models and eligible. I see the note that the devices might become locked to Sprint. I'm sure it's not difficult to fix through their service if I ported out later, but is this a common thing or only if someone brings Sprint bought devices?

Thanks!

All iPhones 8 and above get VoLTE in areas where it is supported (which is a lot of denser-population areas, with more areas coming online all the time). (VoLTE automatically provides what you are calling Voice and Data simultaneously). Visual VoiceMail should be fine too on iPhones.

If you want to know if VoLTE is in your area, drop by a Sprint corporate store and ask, or just try it once you are on..

They will not be locked to Sprint. People in certain situations sometimes post that as if it were common, which it is not. It is not going to happen in your circumstances.

Thank you. I will review the account. The CS sent me two documents showing all the fees waived.

But I will keep in mind and will update tomorrow.

Note: I used the same old sprint SIM.

Very good - Sprint complete is not exactly a regular fee and may not show in whatever the rep sent.

But today when I went out, I am not even getting 1Mbps and some time no internet at all
What's the usual expected speeds for Sprint
Any APN settings needs to be updated for iPhone ?

Make sure roaming is enabled (it never costs).

Also take it to some shopping centers and a Sprint store.

You should get 20 to 30 at at least some of these.

Otherwise the phone may be defective.

Drop by a Sprint store and ask what is typical in your area.

Good humor but not true in my opinion these days. Maybe in a few places.
I seldom get speeds that low anywhere in Raleigh-Durham.
10's, 20's ,30's.
Sometimes 6 ish but not 3.

Unless you have some crippled ancient phone.
Or in a few places, but not the majority.

Awesome! Thank you for the concise info. I'm in a pretty populated area with good coverage (some co-workers often only get 5-10Mbps but the coverage is consistent) so I'm pretty confident it'll work to full capabilities.

Side-Note: I see CoupCabin has $40 for activation/purchases made through Sprint.com. I was going to call in to activate the BYOD plan and see about not being charged the $30 activation fee. Anyone know if using the CC $40 deal works for BYOD activation through the site? It'd essentially offset the cost of shipping/act fee and I wouldn't have to call and deal with anyone over the phone.

Nobody who calls in is charged a $30 activation fee. The offer says it is waived and it is. You would be wasting the coupon.

The $10 sim shipping fee is also being waived for regular shipping, although it is better to get the sim locally free at most Apple stores, especially with time being a factor.

Porting to T-Mobile with digital sim through online method is hit or miss, I was able to port 4 numbers over after several attempts.

Another note when porting to T-Mobile prepaid is if you use a zip code in a state that has no sales tax, you will be able to save a buck.
