Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Quick update : after trying all these number command, chatting with Fi and numerous calls to sprint turns out Sprint has ported my number with a wrong SIM card #! The sim number I have is not what's on file. And totally different at that. I was using a previously used sprint but that was several months ago. Now the only solution is to visit sprint store and show id so they can fix it. As I can't receive texts so due to security reasons they cannot fix it over the phone. Can you believe it!! Anyone else with similar experience? How is it to deal with sprint store people?
do you have a case number to tell the store people? or you can ask for a manager and tell them you just need a new sim for your phone. make sure they "don't touch your plan".

argh. On one of my lines (sprint > t-mobile > sprint) I cannot receive text messages on my iPhone from t-mobile phones. iMessages work fine, of course. Sending to tmo from one of my other sprint phones work fine. The first day after re-upping I was trying to receive sprint account messages from short codes and it wasn't working to this one line so I had them sent to one of the other lines and didn't think twice about it.

Sprint to sprint incoming and outgoing text messages work
Incoming account verification messages from sprint are not received
Outgoing to t-mobile works
Incoming from t-mobile are not received
Haven't tried other carriers yet
All calls seem to work

I reset network settings, ##UPDATE#, power cycled, etc. I guess it's been like this for days now.
Also try ##clear#

Re-upped two lines for another free year today. When chatting with the rep, I said to him they must be really busy with the promo coming to an end in a few days (as I had been on hold to get to an agent for a while). He said they were busy, but according to him, the promo will be extended to May 30th. Take that for what it's worth.

Megan : After you qualify, you will receive Sprint Sim and after you activate the Sim, you will get Sprint services.
Megan : Once you receive your SIM card, you can then visit sprint.com/activatenow to complete your activation.
You : i already have a sprint sim for this phone.
Megan : You will need to order a Sim card online, your old Sim will not work with One year free service offer.
You : ohh...
You : but can i go through everything online or do i need to call in 1 of these steps?
Megan : You can set up everything online.
You : but i have a friend and he had an old sim and he was bale to use it for the 1 year free plan.
You : do you want to double check your information.
Megan : You will not be able to use your old Sim.
Megan : If you activate your old Sim, the regular charges will apply automatically.
You : ohhh..ok, thank you for that information.
You : that is all for now. thank you very much for the chat.
Megan : I should be the one thanking you for your patience and understanding during the chat!
Megan : It is our duty to answer any question you have.
Megan : I must say that you were that most understanding and patient customer I have chatted with today.
You : no problem at all, i know, a lot of people say i am a really nice guy.
Megan : Smilie
I reused two old SIMS today with no issues. I have confirmation that the plan is free for one year. Megan may be incorrect.

She is definitely incorrect. If Sprint wants to improve customer satisfaction right away they should hire comintel!

I bought one of Powercntrl's TMO digital Sim on ebay ($1.99 by opting to 'Pick Up' at store, the ICCID was emailed within minutes...nice). I called TMO to port my Sprint # to the $3 PayGo plan but told them I wanted to fund it later. They set up a temporary phone # on the account and took my porting info and had me set a pin. The port happened within 5 minutes. I called Sprint to setup my new account. The port didn't work from TMO using either the 10 digit # or 1+10 digit #. Sprint porting got TMO porting on the phone, but TMO couldn't tell me the account # except by texting it to the ported phone (can't do since I don't have a physical SIM). Had to go to nearby TMO store where they quickly gave me the account #, which I passed on to Sprint and the port happened quickly. Luckily a TMO store is near my house. All is fine now and another year of free Sprint BYOD. Yay!!!
Is the TMO account number different from your phone number? is it a random number?

Yes that is common.

It will require them to get your old account out of the way but they will be happy to do that for you if you call.

But I already used it during my first BYOD!

And If I could, can I used my own email I used in the first year or should I make a new one?

Am I too late to get this for the third time?

For the recent porting issues with TMO, is it for the digital sims or online porting or both? What if we use physical sims and calling to port, will there be any issues?
FWIW my recent issues with T-Mobile were really only related to me messing up and giving the wrong account number for some of the lines, and on one of my lines the T-Mobile rep entered the port info wrong. If there were no typo type errors in the process, T-Mobile prepaid would have been easy and finish <20 minutes. I had no issues porting out of T-Mobile prepaid using 1+phone number as the account number.

That said, T-Mobile customer service was really hit or miss on getting a rep that actually knew anything about fixing the port. It took a number of phone calls before one rep solved all of my issues. So don't have it mess up (and hope they don't) and you'll be okay! If needed for anyone reading this, T-Mobile port department phone number is 877-789-3106 and I had no success with reps in other departments, even the prepaid department, so hope they don't transfer you.

I'm redoing 6 lines total (Sprint -> T-Mobile -> Sprint) with 3 on one sprint account and 3 on another. Only 2 of the 6 completed to T-Mobile so I finished the process back to Sprint with those. It has been 24 hours since I began the ports to T-Mobile prepaid and I plan on calling them when I'm home from work in a few hours if they still are not finished. I plan on calling the same T-Mobile number and asking specifically for the port department. Let me know if yours go through!

did you use digital SIM for porting?

I did 6 over the last 48 hours using digital sim. For all of them, it was 1+phone number for the account number. They should set up a pin while doing porting to T-Mobile (make sure you do).

Yes, even if you used it for BYOD before. They might have to contact their credit people to remove the SSN from the old account, but it is very doable!
