I have 2 months remaining on my first year with this plan and want to extend it for another year. under my wfie's SSN. I understand I will need to cancel my account. Do I still need to port out to a different carrier and port in to Sprint next day under a new account? I think I do, but wanted to confirm.. And the fastest way is to buy the t-mobile SIM on e-bay for the two phones that would needed to ported out?

Thanks

I am trying to port from sprint to tmobile pay as you go via phone call. After giving him all the info needed such as phone number, sprint account # and pin, i have to wait 2 hours for the text from tmobile. She cant give me the account number until i receive the text from tmobile. Does anyone experience same thing? How can i obtain account number with tmobile without funding the account? Thanks in advance

Thanks, but that phone number now goes to a general Sprint department, just like calling customer service.

I did route my last email directly back to Marci, as the previous response was sent from Sprint customer care. Hopefully I'll get a response, very soon, from someone who will actually try to help.

Really worried, here...
I do not know for sure but maybe it might go directly to her department earlier in the day if you try tomorrow?

Yes you still need to port out and in.
You do not have to cancel your old account but it will cancel itself once you port out the last number.

In order to receive text, the line needs to be funded. Does it worth it for all those long hours just to save $3? I activated Tmobile prepaid line which took <1 min and paid $3 online. No need to call anyone.

I ported out my first line online and paid $3 but it went nowhere. I had to call tmobile to make the porting happened. So I just straight calling them on my 2nd line instead of doing online.

safe to say:

4/2/19: lots of problems with tmobile port. seems to be a hit or miss. no one has clear answer's as to which method will work. big YMMV all around. u will need to do your own research on continuing to use TM or look elsewhere.

You are correct. My experiences were different depending on whoever I spoke with. Btw, I just successfully porting out by calling them again and spoke to someone nicer who was able to help my porting. Apparently, when I called the first time, they didn't even request the porting.
Thank you so much for all the helpful info

Couple of days back, I was able to follow the WiKi to get the 2nd FREE year for 2 lines. I want to THANK all the folks who help guide and keep the information up-to-date.

One question.. In the future (after 4/5), if I need to add a line to the existing account, would it work?

I just ported one phone from Sprint to T-Mobile and back to Sprint with no problems on the phone with them. I have one last number I'm trying to port from Sprint to T-Mobile and the last number is giving me all kinds of issues. T-Mobile says the porting process has started and sprint says they sent a message to release the IMEI. It still works on Sprint and I show it active on my account. Any advice. I have 4 lines with sprint already and just trying to get this final line switched over. Is there a cheaper option to port to besides T-Mobile and back to sprint?

So I was able to successfully port out a sprint iPhone 4s from Tello to TMo using an esim.
When I tried porting in to Sprint byod, they say the iphone is not eligible.
The phone number is now eligible to move according to the checker (https://www.sprint.com/en/my-spri...check.html)

I ran it's meid through the sprint checker (https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...print.html), it says "Validate your SIM" and an area to enter a sim number. Unfortunately, this older sprint phone doesn't have a sim.
I also ran the meid and number through the byod link(https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...phone.html), and it says the following:
Sorry, but this device can't be activated with Sprint service. Try another device, or Shop for a new device.

Does it mean I need to get the flag flipped from prepaid to postpaid or does it simply mean this phone is not eligible to move to sprint?
Sprint community says they can't do it. Tello says sprint has to do it.
