For those trying to get another year, has anyone tried porting over to ATT prepaid at a store? I am curious why everyone is going the Tmo route?
I ported 2 lines out of my Sprint account and into att while at the store. Sims where $5 each and had to put $10 prepay on each line. I then immediately called Sprint and ported them into my wife's newly created Sprint acct.

I would have preferred to spend less money however from what I've read on here other options may either take longer or have possible hiccups in the process. Also I didn't want to risk loosing the numbers.

My mother is not attached to her phone number so I ported that from Sprint to h2o yesterday to kill my Sprint account as it was the last line left in my name. I then made a new line with T-Mobile pay as you go using a physical sim and ported that into Sprint. As some are reporting I did have to pay $4.21 to T-Mobile to start the new line.

ok, here is an update... Marci's rep called back my wife and repeated the same thing that this is a standard policy and you can only try again after 60 days. Then I thought to try my luck with the credit dept again. My wife talked to them and after talking to the supervisor and persuading (actually pleading) them to give us 1 more chance, he agreed to do it as an "exception". My wife told them that your VP Marci has asked us to contact them for the resolution laugh out loud . This time questions were clear and my wife answered them with no problems. Verification done and her ssn pre-approved for 5 lines. Then I called the telesales folks to register for the service and after spending close to 2 hours on the phone with them, finally got the service in my wife's name till 4/30/2020. The ordeal is over and I am set for another year Applause

A BIG thanks to all the helpful people here on SD !!! even to those who say "Read the wiki" laugh out loud
Fantastic news and an illustration of the benefit of trying all possible avenues repeatedly and with some creativity!

Just got off the phone porting my last line over. The Sprint rep indicated that 4/4 is the last day for a new account, but that I could continue to add lines to an existing account after 4/4. This was unsolicited as we were making small talk about the Sprint T-Mobile merger and the roll-out of 5G. He seemed well informed. Just another data point.

So they finally told the reps! As always, they were the last to know.

Ported 4 lines to t-mobile successfully online just now.

3 of the 4 show as eligible now on the sprint device checker, but one shows ineligible (It's an Essential phone that was just on the plan!)

Any advice?

EDIT: Fixed (Stupid typo on my part!)

Did you port all 4 phones at once or 1 at a time?

My 1 year free ends on 4/30/19. Just see now that the promotion will end tomorrow and some issues with T-Mobile. What is the best way for me now? Is the best idea now is to go to T-Mobile store and get port out on prepaid?

just wondering, where it states that this promo ends tomorrow?

What will happen if sprint extends the program after 4.4? LOL
Worst case: you sacrificed a couple of months worth of hotspot. Best case: you saved up to $720 ($60 x however many months difference between your current plan and the fresh year) per line by being pro-active and not leaving things to chance.

If you're extra-clever and have enough IMEI's and ICCIDs and numbers to port in, you can even keep both old and new Sprint accounts open at the same time. Swap as necessary.
