Well I guess it just varies all over the place regarding who will give sim cards or like doing so.

In do not think it matters what order you do things in but I would out in the sim first at least.
Ok do you think I should call Credit Dept first to try & get pre-approved as some people mentioned issues getting past approval. Then call tele-sales to actually port line & active service? Or should I just try calling tele-sales first & have them do everything for me?

I suppose if something goes wrong I can always try in my wife's name too & I may actually try to open an account in mine & her name too just to keep my options open going down the road.

I have some extra iPhones. I would love to keep several of my current lines until they expire at the end of July, as they have 50 GB hotspots. I have no idea how we got 50 GB, but that is what we have.

We already transferred one phone, and opened new account under hubbys SSN, for the plan to exp on 4/30/20. Can I use my T-Mobile SIM cards and get new numbers, then transfer to sprint? Would it take longer to port out to sprint for a new phone number?

Also, would I be able to later change those "placeholder" lines to our current phone numbers with sprint? Is that a doable thing?

I read the wiki, it didn't say much, so was looking for more active discussion or if anyone who recently signed up asked about that. I am quite familiar with this plan.
I don't know if there is a reason why SD can't ask this question to their Sprint contact around this as well ? The same contact gave the 4/4 end date right?

For those that have ported successfully to T-Mobile online, I am trying to port 4 lines at one time, since we used all but one of our email addresses when we did this last year. I have everything ready and am at the checkout screen, but the option to use your existing number is grayed out and will not let me select that option. It will only let me select the "get a new number" option. That is what is making me think of trying my question in my previous post.
Does anyone know how to let it allow me to select "use your existing number"?

I think some people are able to port # after the fact?

Thank you all, got another year signed up.

Did the TMo port out of 2 lines yesterday at the store. was no issues ; cost was $ 13 per line.

Did the Sprint port-in today with wife's ssn . Took an hour for the whole process but was completed successfully.

The rep was telling that today is the last day.

That's some peculiarity at your location. It should be fixed soon by VoLTE anyway..

I have not heard re the G5's. But you can leave them until the old plan runs out if you can spare the SSN .

Well took the leap of faith that service will improve. Thanks so much for your help and thanks to everyone for the incredible Wiki.

This was simple to do
I put substituted another old phone for my current Moto G6 play and Sprint showed it was working but still haven't been able to get it to update the profile but I don't care--I'm gong to cancel the line anyways. So that freed up the Moto G6play--

I followed the instructions on transferring a Google phone number over---Awesome instructions in the wiki

Called Sprint to set up new account under different SS# and used the Moto G6 from current account that was removed and now waiting for everything to activate so have to do some research in the thread if google phone # doesn't go through and transfer correctly.

I did ask the ? of adding more lines and was informed that tomorrow is the end of promotion but I can have up to 5 lines on this account and can add them later but can't Change Phones on the plan for 120 days. So keep that in mind. I asked what happens if it breaks and he said get it fixed. Not sure how long the google port will take but we will see.

This was pretty simple thanks to all the updates and work that all of you awesome people put into this thread.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

A correction: $10 for SIM and $3 for pay-as-you-go credit. Basically, $6.5 more than EBay Digital SIM route.
thank you, I followed your earlier post on the cost breakdown and went to T-Mobile store instead of the ebay route.

Yes I was & recognized you too. I just gave my daughter it to use today with Boost Mobile SIM card in it. I'll try RSIM later still but I'll tell her not to update it.

My daughter is almost 16 so I'm sure she will get plenty of use from it. BTW some people were buying these just to trade in.
Yeah a brand new 6s+ is plenty for a 16year old.
I'm going to wait and see what's changing with these unlocking. And use the free data hotspot on the boost sim for this month. Will look at unlocking after that.

After reading about the trade in I was thinking I could've also signed up for 4 6s+ considering I was getting it for $75 which would've been a great return.

Same here, except I can receive sprint-sprint sms. Still waiting on a response from Sprint support. I chatted yesterday then called today to check on the status and they told me that support tried to contact me via text. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
I found a post on the sprint forums from 2012 [sprint.com] about someone having issues with receiving texts from the same carrier that they ported in from (although my issue seems to include not receiving "short codes" as well).

Quote from Someone on the forum who seemed like they knew what they were talking about :
Hello and Welcome to Sprint! If you "ported" your number from Verizon, there may have been a problem with the port or portions or that process as it is quite complex from a networking viewpoint.
First, we need to verify that your text messaging service is registered with the Inter-carrier as "Sprint." We have a tool to check that from your phone number.
We can re-provision your text messaging service by removing and re-adding it in our billing system.
We may need to contact our Porting Department and have them "re-broadcast" your port request.

So the info everyone has now is that this deal expires tomorrow, does that mean tonight is the last day to take advantage of it or tomorrow? Also anyone recently tried to signed up for it online?

Porting from Tracfone to Sprint

Account number - last 15 digits of Tracfone SIM
Pin - Logged in online, changed it to 5 digits under profile

Should work right?
