Ok do you think I should call Credit Dept first to try & get pre-approved as some people mentioned issues getting past approval. Then call tele-sales to actually port line & active service? Or should I just try calling tele-sales first & have them do everything for me?

I suppose if something goes wrong I can always try in my wife's name too & I may actually try to open an account in mine & her name too just to keep my options open going down the road.
Yeah I would start the normal way through TeleSales.

I have some extra iPhones. I would love to keep several of my current lines until they expire at the end of July, as they have 50 GB hotspots. I have no idea how we got 50 GB, but that is what we have.

We already transferred one phone, and opened new account under hubbys SSN, for the plan to exp on 4/30/20. Can I use my T-Mobile SIM cards and get new numbers, then transfer to sprint? Would it take longer to port out to sprint for a new phone number?

Also, would I be able to later change those "placeholder" lines to our current phone numbers with sprint? Is that a doable thing?
You cannot activate just sim cards on Sprint. It has to be actual phones.
Personally I would wait until July to move for the extra lines.

So the info everyone has now is that this deal expires tomorrow, does that mean tonight is the last day to take advantage of it or tomorrow? Also anyone recently tried to signed up for it online?
You should be fine to call tomorrow. Some reps have said so.

Are we certain that I will be able to add lines to the new (4/30/2020) plan?

I would love to be able to keep at least one or two lines with the hotspot.
I homeschool, and there are plenty of times that I am waiting in doctor's offices and I have my son's iPad linked to the hotspot so that he can do his schoolwork while waiting.

Well took the leap of faith that service will improve. Thanks so much for your help and thanks to everyone for the incredible Wiki.

This was simple to do
I put substituted another old phone for my current Moto G6 play and Sprint showed it was working but still haven't been able to get it to update the profile but I don't care--I'm gong to cancel the line anyways. So that freed up the Moto G6play--

I followed the instructions on transferring a Google phone number over---Awesome instructions in the wiki

Called Sprint to set up new account under different SS# and used the Moto G6 from current account that was removed and now waiting for everything to activate so have to do some research in the thread if google phone # doesn't go through and transfer correctly.

I did ask the ? of adding more lines and was informed that tomorrow is the end of promotion but I can have up to 5 lines on this account and can add them later but can't Change Phones on the plan for 120 days. So keep that in mind. I asked what happens if it breaks and he said get it fixed. Not sure how long the google port will take but we will see.

This was pretty simple thanks to all the updates and work that all of you awesome people put into this thread.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
They have always said that cannot change phones nonsense from day one and it is no more true now than it ever was.

It is just a line that they have memorized that only applies in another context with the 95 percent of their customers that buy all their phones from Sprint.

Long time lurker, I was on the phone with a rep who knew a lot about the plan. He said that it is expiring tomorrow. I asked about whether I can still transfer lines to this free one year plan, even after the expiration. He said that I should be able to.

My transfer method was a variation on the wiki one, but it still worked:
1) Bought a eSIM off eBay
2) Bring your own device on T-Mobile webpage
3) Created a brand new number (instead of porting my sprint numbers in, just as a dummy/test)
4) Paid $3 for pay as you go
5) Got a webpage with my account # + PIN
6) Called the special one year free spring number
7) Gave all info over the phone and successful port over

I wanted a third number for my burner phone (for pokemon go) so it can have mobile data. I plan to transfer over my main sprint numbers over either today or when my original 1 year free plan expires at the end of the summer.

Thanks OP for the thread and like to share my Sprint re-porting experience here.

After an year of BYOD free service with Sprint, just re-signed up for another year under my relative's name.

First, ported both my Spring numbers to T-mobile using the digital SIM@ebay method posted in Wiki, this method still works and took me 10 min max to port each number, once successfully ported to T-Mobile, i called Sprint to port it back under this promo using my relative info, I had my doubts about this method based on recent posts but it worked out flawlessly without any issues, the whole process maybe took me about an hour( porting back and forth 2 numbers).

Hope this helps folks who are about to re-sign up for an additional year.

I am guessing Tele-sale is bombarded with calls now. On hold for more than 1/2 hour and still waiting.
