Hi, there was a "rumor" that promo will go away forever on 4/4/19. Is it true?

You are already on a postpaid plan. It's just that it's free. Sprint doesn't do prorated billing for their plans. If you port out a day late, you get hit for the full $60. So port out sooner, rather than later.
Ah shoot. I'm not able to initiate the process out until May 2 or may 3 for logistical purposes.

Thanks, I have called them twice, and they keep telling me it should work. Gonna try calling again.

SlickDeals Editor, Andrew Chen, who is the author of the original article, very kindly checked today at my request and replied:

Quote from andrew_chen :Hi comintel,I've confirmed with a few very reliable sources that the Sprint offer is not being extended past the beginning of April. I'm not certain if 4/4 is the actual drop-dead date, as no one else has given any specific dates, but that's probably a safe target for anyone looking to jump on this deal.Hope this helps!
He said I could quote him.

My own observation (not his) is that the 4/4 date seems to have come to SlickDeals via another route independently and I would not count on it changing at all.
I'm Bumping this excellent post for make benefit of those of you who procrastinated. Count me among them. I kept hoping for some counterindication -- that it would be extended again. But no such counterindication came. So here we are. At the end of the road. On the bright side, at least the SD editors didn't put this back on FP. Can you imagine the chaos in this thread if they did?

Yesterday I signed up online (I know against Wiki however since all fees are being waived and hearing issues with over the phone I figured I would give it a shot). I received an order confirmation for the SIM however never was asked to create an account. Since it was before 2pm EST I expected it to ship and I could sign up today. It did not. I also remember reading that one could sign up before the SIM arrived with any valid Sprint SIM which I have. I used the link in the WIKI for SIM activation and input the email, phone number, and birthday used on the SIM order. The result is: "We're sorry. This information doesn't match our records. Please double-check your information and try again."

Does anyone have any ideas other than calling and trying to continue over the phone or waiting for the SIM to arrive after the deadline and hoping that it works?

Thanks for all of the good information from amazing people on this thread. I realize I now I should have just called in and followed the Wiki.

If you have the correct sim for your phone ( chart is in the wiki) then I would call and explain situation and Hopefully they can get you going.

Have a new account set up with 1 new phone number and still have 3 on the old account which is free until the end of July (I think). Should I leave that open or move all the phones over to the new account? I really don't use the tethering or much data. Could use new phones if there is an opportunity for that--something that could be unlocked and used on another network if Sprint's network doesn't improve. Just thinking about phone opportunities. I doubt that I will stay on the Sprint network if I have to pay for it.

Yes I would have just called in.

Bought a Verizon iPhone 5S yesterday off the nextdoor site/app for $55 & successfully activated it on the Sprint Free year plan only paying taxes & fee's. Took an hour on the phone with Sprint from start to finish but God gave me wisdom to get it done & allow everything to go smoothly!! I ported over a Free T-MOBILE SCNA MI data on demand line.

Anyone else had issues creating a sprint account? I get some invalid key in red when trying..

Also as I'm in Chicago where I assume coverage should be great. What are you folks getting for speed?

I notice it will be decent for 20 min and then it drops and slows down to 1mbps to 8mbps. Not sure if this normal.

Note: I'm using moto g5plus
I just activated a Verizon iPhone 5S on Sprint last night and I was getting 26 Mbps last night & 12-17 Mbps today in the Oakbrook Terrace/Villa Park 60181 IL Area. Calls & texts are working great too.

I would try a T-mobile Simple Choice North America Mobile Internet line for hotspot. Also you can check out Metro by T-MOBILE, Sprint even has their unlimited tablet plan with Wi-Fi hotspot tethering for $15 a month.

If you qualify check out people PC as they have unlimited hotspot data running on the Sprint network for $120 a year I believe? Only thing is you need to pay for hotspot device from them & they don't support BYOD. Also check out At&t ZTE Mobley or Harmon Spark where you can get the unlimited car connect plan for $20-30 a month. Then you just move the Sim card to a Att hotspot device.

Lastly I guess you can check out Verizon Jetpack hotspot data service? Do you happen to have Comcast Xfinity home internet service? Tia Ron. 🙂

Man. Finally done. My quick breakdown of my experience.
- Had to call TMob PrePaid to port
- Paid the $3 to fund each number
- csr had to give me a temp number to activate eSim
- made sure I got the 9 digit acct # before I hung up

Called sprint at 6:07am today and it took 37 mins to get my 2 numbers ported from TMob.

All in all, 3 years of free service for 3 lines for a PIA time of about 2.5 hrs has been well worth it.

Good luck!
- got a different acct number for each port

Interesting development - Up until this morning, my IMEI (Moto X4) and Phone Number were eligible for this BYOD, but as of today, the checker is saying they're not eligible.
I just singed up (again - after a 6 month break) with a X4 amd Mint tel number.

It should work for you unless there is some sort of flag on your phone's imei.
