Does anyone know of a good hotspot alternative for very occasional use? I don't think I can jailbreak my phone
Samsung and essential are pretty easy to work around.

Does anyone know the quickest way to get your Mint Mobile account number?

I emailed them as per their FAQ but haven't heard back anything.

Also, is the account number the only thing you need to port from Mint to Sprint? I.e., is there a PIN I need to ask for as well?

TIA

Got the year free yesterday. They pushed me to buy sprint complete insurance. Got it with on mind to cancel service today. Just rethinking about it my screen already cracked. Is it possible to use the insurance to repair a cracked screen from before if they don't know about it. Any experience?

Based on previous posts, Tmobile has two systems. the old one does not need you to fund your account, and the account is your phone number. The new one will require you to fund it and it will generate different account number. You can always set up mytmobile and log in to see your account number once you number is transferred.
This is accurate and I was able to get my porting done this morning by providing 1 + my phone number as my account number blindly and it worked smoothly. So, if you are asked to pay while porting to tmobile then your account # will be different than your phone number and you are in trouble if you use digital sim like I did. I will recommend NOT TO PROCEED if the rep asks you to pay. I am now going to add 3 more lines to my account...

Other idea like another person mentioned is to open a new pay as you go new line online and you will get account # immediately. Use that account # to port in to the tmobile digital sim so that your ported line are tied up to the new account # and then go for sprint porting.

This thread has been awesome and lots of thanks to everyone contributing here.

So signed up using the online portal. Only got charged for the sim card, $3. I guess there's not a difference signing up through the online portal vs calling in anymore? Seemed to go smooth and easier than speaking with an agent on the phone.

After my relative twice failed security questions, and I did song and dance with 1st unhelpful jerk from executive escalation department, who as a last resort reluctantly transferred me to his helpful supervisor, I was able to finally port back into Sprint after 4th level credit department supervisor, who had actually left me voicemail with her personal cell phone number (!) and then yelled at me when I called her back on it the next day initially thinking I was a scam artist telemarketer trying to sell her a timeshare (!!), after which she was extremely helpful, insisted on a solo call with my 80-year-old relative, and babied the relative somehow to pass the security check!!!

Got great Sprint agent last night to complete activation , so good that I had agent immediately call my close friend who was about to have a relative sign up, too.

Both my and my friend's Sprint accounts successfully initiated, but port away from fresh 2-day-old H20 accounts not kicking in, Sprint insisting that H20 account numbers (both mine and my friend's) are incorrect, despite that H2O texted the numbers to us. I eventually was given numbers for Sprint Porting Department 855-641-1960 and 877-503-3269 where they would call H2O directly for me to sort out port.

Also, the proficient Sprint rep repeatedly confirmed in my convo that the offer indeed ends 4/4 AND that I could add additional lines AT ANY TIME DURING MY FREE YEAR and still receive free service on those added lines FOR THE REMAINING DURATION OF THE 1 YEAR FREE ON MY ACCOUNT. Again, I confirmed this with her three separate times during sign-up convo, and she was sure of herself.

Just make sure to ask the rep for the account number if they don't tell you on their own. Worked fine for me.

Many people do it but quite a few people on reddit say it is insurance fraud.
When you sign the paperwork for a repair, it asks for date damage occurred. You have to decide whether you will be prepared to lie there.
