Two days of phone / chat , etc.. with Sprint and Tmobile.
So far, 4 out of 5 lines are switched.

All lines I used physical TMobile Sim Cards that I purchased off of Amazon.

1st line - iphone 5s - did not add funds to TMobile Prepaid account, port out was almost instant
2nd Line - Motorola G5 - Rep said I had to add funds, so I did, and this phone is still stuck in limbo, after almost 24 hours
3rd Line - iphone 6s - did not add funds to TMobile Prepaid account, port out was almost instant
4th Line - Motorola G6 - did not add funds to TMobile Prepaid account, port out was almost instant
5th Line - iphone 7s plus - did not add funds to TMobile Prepaid account, port out was almost instant

By the time I did the 3rd line, I thought that maybe it was the Android system that was causing the problem. But after adding the Motorola G6 and it worked correctly. My hunch, or guess is that adding funds is what may be causing the delay. The transaction is still pending in my checking account. Is it possible that it may not go through completely until the funds post?
I would recommend to others calling in that if your representative insists that you must add funds, then HUCA, until you get a rep that will let you port without adding funds. Just a pure guess though.

I signed up for the service yesterday and ordered the SIM card to ship to my local Walgreens. It won't be there till tomorrow. Am I still okay since I've already signed up but just don't have the SIM card number to activate it yet...? TIA
If you are signed up and a credit check was run and you have an account number, you are fine in my opinion.

The only thing that could be likely to go wrong would be a mixup. Those have happened on occasion . To avoid that risk, you can get a sim locally today if you want. What phone is it?

Wow - we are really seeing a great demonstration today of how to get this calling offer for free and also that patience pays off!

Ok, the phones 3,4 and 5 are showing up in My Sprint on the new account, but when we try to make calls, we get that recorded message that "Sprint is now connecting you to to an external operator where you can complete outbound calls using either a credit card or collect call..."

I was thinking there was some ##number# that I could call to reset the settings? I can't find it in the Wiki. Or Do I just need to wait longer?

Well that takes sim 416Q which is in every sim kit including the Boost one if you want to pick one up at BestBuy etc and finish it off today.

You do not have to unless you want to rule out any remote possibility of a problem.

The old accounts have to be suspended by the Credit Department (regardless of how old they are) before the credit check can be done.

She can call either the Credit Department at the number ending in 6116 or TeleSales at the number ending in 8777 to authorize that. They are not going to allow you to deal with the issue.
Thank you. I'm going to see if she can manage that. Is there any more information on this somewhere or something I missed in the wiki?

Lots of people have cancelled and returned after 45 days, but I've never seen this mentioned. I also did some phone deals myself in 2017 and returned after a few months.

I'm assuming this is gonna be the same for a relative who had post-paid Sprint several years ago right?

$9.99

A sprint corporate store might or might not give you just the bare 416Q sim especially, There may be a way of getting one at an Apple store if you pretend you have a certain iPhone model but i am not sure about that - someone else may know. .

Quite frankly, if it were me, I would not worry about it and just wait until tomorrow if you were approved and have a Sprint account number already.

Logged in to Sprint Mobile App
Under Services
I see

Int'l Connect Call & Text $15
Int'l Connect Call&Text - Promo $0

Can you see is it the same for you also ? I am guessing the chat agent messed it instead of free promo, she added the plan (I saved the chat history as PDF in which she said 6 months its free)

Edit - had a chat from my sprint account, the agent confirmed its (I can see that you have the promotional International connect Free for 6 months.)

Happy Ending, final day went well

All of those should be fine but you will probably have to get the credit department to suspend the old accounts in most or all of the cases. They have no problem doing that, as long as it has been at least 45 days since that SSN was last used on Sprint.

I was trying to get another year for free and tried porting to tmobile - website didn't work even though I got confirmation number, account number, etc. I called tmobile and they said that it failed because I didn't provide a temporary number, even though there was no such thing when I was filling online forms. They also said that I'd have to complete the process over the phone, the'd give me a temporary number and it would take 24h to complete. I called multiple times and every time they said the same thing. Anybody experienced that?
