Thank you so much. Here is what I am planning on doing. Call sprint to port in the new account and temp phone number with an old sprint not used phone someone gave me. Once my main number from sprint finally ports out to T-Mobile and the IMEI is released I'll then call and see if they can change the temp number to the one that moved to T-Mobile. Does that sound right?
Yes I think you should do that.

Actually, later on, you will just be able to port in the main phone with the real number. Then drop the old phone and temp number, which will be even easier.

In any case, it may be better to deal with Chat, not TeleSales, for any actual switches later on if it does come down to that.

Very odd. I just had a Chat session, and the person said that today is not the last day for the promotion.

Anyone else get this one?
Somebody else posted that too.

Chat is just clueless about this plan, that's all. They do not even understand how it works and are looking at the end of savings date of April 30, 2020 and not noticing the year, or at the formal end date in stale internal documentation.

Nobody even bothered to tell them the offer was ending today.

I am having the same issue. My daughter's number is still stuck in limbo land, between Sprint and TMobile. I know that there is a chance that I could still add her to the plan after 4/4/19, but I would rather be certain and get it all secured today.

I do have an extra phone, sim and phone number. Should I go ahead and add this as my last line to Sprint? To secure the plan rate, then contact later and switch her phone number and phone to her current phone and phone number that will be with TMobile at that point? Also, the other reason that I need a line added for her today, is because she is travelling internationally in a few months and I need to get that International Deal that expires today.

On the phone with them, porting back from TMO last 3 lines, I can hear people celebrating and clapping on the back, lol, I guess Sprint will be reporting a huge new activations number. Even if the small fraction of them stays with them adter promotion ends - it's a huge sucess!

Sim ended up stuck in Indianapolis since Tuesday, tried calling reps and got assured that she has spoken with supervisor and leave her employee id on my profile and that I should call in to activate the line tomorrow when the sim arrives (hopefully!). Should I rely on her words and wait for the sim card or could I call again now to active the old EVO Shift, which I believe don't need a sim to run that I have laying around to secure the deal?

I do have an active FreedomPop LG phone with a sprint sim card. I'm porting that number to my main phone, so that sim is still active and I'm not sure if the device is unlocked. I could not use this sim card for this activation purpose, right?

I've used both. TMO prepaid is a little easier in that you can do it all online for cheaper and you should get the account number in the last confirmation. But they seem to be a little more prone to stuck ports and or generally something going wrong. ATT prepaid is a little more expensive (I don't think you can sign up online for paygo, so min online would be $30ish; I did it in a store and only loaded $10+tax). But there's no automated way to get your account number from them; you have to call and ask for it. But at least in my experience, porting out of ATT has gone wrong 0 times, whereas from TMO has been greater than zero.

Not sure exactly how fast the unlock happens, but isn't it typically a few business days? If so you will not have enough time to use that phone to port in today since it's still carrier locked.
Thanks so much for replying. Yes, I found out the hard way that iPhones take 24-72 hours to be unlocked, whereas most Androids can be unlocked right away. I guess I'm out of luck.

That International plan is for calling from the U.S.so I do not think it would be of any use while traveling.

Sure, you can add the place-holding line if you want but I suspect you will end up taking it off and adding the real line later because that will be simpler than swapping and changing the number. But it would indeed cover the hypothetical contingency that it turns out there is no way to add lines later.

I would activate the Evo if they will allow it. No flag to flip if it's been on Sprint.
You can always swap in your other device later

Agreed that the most important point is to motivate people people not to take the chance, regardless of which way they expect it to go or what they think the odds are.
