Simple process using T mobile tonight. Took less then 10 minutes for transfer to go through--well at least Sprint phone is telling me it's not working. Still shows on My Sprint account

That International plan is for calling from the U.S.so I do not think it would be of any use while traveling.

Sure, you can add the place-holding line if you want but I suspect you will end up taking it off and adding the real line later because that will be simpler than swapping and changing the number. But it would indeed cover the hypothetical contingency that it turns out there is no way to add lines later.
So i tried adding this International Calling option to my account.. 3 times.. once i was told the offer expired today, and 2 other chat reps told me that my account is not eligible.. i guess i'll try again later Wave

Thanks! I did not realize it was not for calling from other countries. I will not worry about that then. We don't know anyone overseas. LOL

And, I am hemming and hawing over what to do on that last line..... It has just about been 24 hours since we first ported out from Sprint to TMobile for her number. Several of the TMobile porting reps that I talked to today said that it was currently under dual service and that it would work after 24 hours. I pushed the last rep and asked why 24 hours is the magic number. He said that since the port shows as successful in their system, that the Sprint sim card would automatically deactivate after 24 hours. I am getting ready to check the phone again. We'll see if that was bull, or the truth.....

I did add a burner phone / number to the old sprint account (50 GB hotspot) just so I can keep the hotspot those extra few months.

Probably depends on where I live, never get VoLTE.
It does depend, yes.

But try this trick.

Call a number with Wifi Calling and drop Wifi as it rings or during the call.

In some areas that are not quite ready (including mine on the S8) , this will get you VoLTE.

Ok peeps. Less than 3 hours. Don't forget you can get a T-Mobile number for porting from eBay for around 6.50. Comes with account number and pin necessary for porting.

Thank you so much. Here is what I am planning on doing. Call sprint to port in the new account and temp phone number with an old sprint not used phone someone gave me. Once my main number from sprint finally ports out to T-Mobile and the IMEI is released I'll then call and see if they can change the temp number to the one that moved to T-Mobile. Does that sound right?
I don't think you can do it that way. You should just port in your number from T-Mobile as an additional line and then you can cancel the temp number on your Sprint account.

Several people have successfully ported a new number on top of the original one. We had this conversation with others a number of times in the past..

It needs to be done with tech support, not TeleSales. To support, it is fairly routine request. The main issue is the interaction with the porting requirement of this plan. It has to be done very carefully not to mess that up.

Another way to approach it to tell them you ported in the wrong number by mistake and need to correct it. This is fairly common also.

One person did mess it up.

So yes., I suggest the more straightforward way where possible.

But I would not be afraid of it if it is necessary and is planned carefully. It is not really hard for them to do.

Just to followup, I tried that on z2 force.
While the switch was audibly seamless while toggling wifi I was not able to confirm voLTE. There was no icon or other indicator on the phone.
I'll try again with another caller. Thanks.

Very good. I just do not know on that phone.

Also in the S8 you have to first successfully enable VoLTE, which can be tricky.. I do not know if there is anything corresponding to that on Z2 Force.

Someone earlier said that you'll have to activate all the phones today, all that you want for free. Does anyone know if that is true?
Yes it is I just activate my phone ans asked the rep who seems to be knowledgeable and she confirmed that after today that would not be possible. She even stayed with me on the line until I reached MInt to get an account number for the second phone and then transferred it to Sprint.

The reps are not a reliable source of information in my opinion. Some of them were saying this offer was not going to expire for months until a few days ago.
