hahaha.....exactly.....we all should meet in 1 remote island, do a Luau, and get lost and talk about this whole thing. i think Desi has bought an island by now, with all his bots answering the questions, telling them to "red the wiki".... and charging them $3 a pop. :-)
One problem. The island he bought was Alcatraz. Oh well, I'll bring a jacket. Grin

I just noticed I was added for the Sprint Complete Plan (phone insurance). The line I opened is for backup, so I used an old Phone, which has a crack screen. So can I file a claim under the complete plan then? Wondering how it works

PIHST (Posting in Historically Significant Thread).

Wow so it really ended Sadbye It wasn't just a sales-drive gimmick! Has anyone tried adding a line to an existing account today? I've been trying to convince my dad to come over from Verizon, but he says Sprint sucks. He's not wrong, but I tell him just think of the savings, though! I myself would have gotten on this plan a lot sooner, but I was under the mistaken impressions that 1.) You had to have a very recent, expensive phone from the list 2.) That you had to be coming from a postpaid service like VZ or AT&T. and 3.) That you needed to be exceptionally well-qualified borrower. None of these turned out to be true -- which I discovered only from the exceptional contributions from the denizens of this thread.

Which brings me to my next point. I wanted to publicly thank all the people in this thread who basically served as unpaid tech support for this free plan. I hate enumerating, because I know I'll accidentally leave people off, but special commendations go to comintel, desi_babu, hodaddy, edog11, freddiez, gengis_khan, macrokelvin, hunterone, and numerous others. I'm pleased to see that your helpfulness was acknowledged by the community, and many of you crested the 1,000 reputation mark as a result. I see many of you even tried to help right up to the last minute while I was already asleep last night. You guys are heroic!

Let's also take a moment to acknowledge Literally_Unlimited for all the flags (mostly set inappropriately by RingPlus) he helped to flip -- for free!

See you all in the next great telco thread. Whatever it might be. Cheers

I ordered a SIM (from Sprint's free plan link) yesterday, now I am not sure if I can activate it for the free plan when it arrives.

Anyone in the same boat? If anyone can activate post 4/4 please let us know.

So after a couple hours on the phone last night I was able to enroll my wife and myself. Unfortunately, the rep insisted that I had no choice but to take Sprint Complete device protection, despite me insisting that I didn't want it several times. Eventually she claimed she could not enroll me without the plan, and considering I had been on the phone two hours and it was 10:30 PM EST, I think she knew that she had me backed into a corner. I went ahead and enrolled, thinking I would just remove it afterwards and bite the bullet on the prorated fee, but now when I go to change services online it's giving me INTERNAL_ERROR every time I try (on both phone lines). Has anyone ran in to this before. Is there an easy fix?

Have chat support remove it on their end.

Darn Phone just came today, damn thing arrived 4 days late. Was going to use it to add a line to my already existing byod free year plan ... anyone know if Sprint will allow me to add it still? Thanks in advance...

My brother signed up yesterday and added a line. Rep said he could add 4 more lines even after promotion end 4/4, so he ordered 2 more sims through rep which will arrive next day. So deal is not completely dead, at least for those who have already opened this account.

I noticed several pages back, think it was user comintel who mentioned we should still be able to signup phones on existing accounts, until April 30th. That would be great, because I ran out of time to get a third phone on my free Sprint plan account. In case anyone tries to add another line, I would like to hear how it goes. For now I'm going to hold off, because I would again have to do the "google fi to t-mobile to sprint" jump, and I'm reticent to go through all that, until someone confirms success adding a new line to their existing free plan.

I'm wondering the same. If i went through the online portal and it ran a credit check on me, but now the SIM won't arrive until tomorrow.. am I still in the clear? Can they see in their system that they ran a credit check for the BYOD 1yr free service and complete the agreement even though it's after april 4th? I'll have to wait until i get the SIM to try for myself.

You will have until April 30, 2020. That is what your plan provides and it is binding on Sprint and they know it..

The plan has no reference to what the offer is or was from time to time.

The end of the offer has nothing to do with your plan.

Lines are added under the terms of your own frozen plan, not under the terms of later revisions to the offer for newer customers..

That has always been my interpretation and I think you will see it vindicated.
Well since the deal has ended finally, this thing could now be tested. I will try calling them to see if they would allow adding a line with BYOD plan
