Want to share some info I learnt from agents in creating new account on the last day 4/4 and moving a second line today 4/6, both from another BYOD plan that had a 2019 promo end date.

Porting in and out from Tmobile
* first line was setup on their old "legacy prepaid" system and account number is 1 followed by the phone number
* second line even after repeatedly asking for old/legacy platform and being transferred 2-3 times, ended up being on their new system also known as "2.0" prepaid system. asked for the account number and after some pushback he shared it. Also was able to register with a Tmobile id and verify the account number online.

Porting back into Sprint
* first line was ok, everything as expected. Took the protection plan and got it removed later from chat
* adding second line today turned out to be more nuisance than I expected. Got disconnected after 20mins on first call after being told that order was close to being done. Got disconnected after 5-7mins on second call and, did not get a return call even after requesting it upfront. On the third call the rep himself volunteered that the first two disconnects were likely calls hung up, because the line did not have a "protection plan". He promised not to hang up and proceeded to try convince me to take the protection plan. I agreed and he took all the info again and completed the order. At the end he said the second line did not qualify for the protection plan so he did not add it.

Swapping/changing devices in the future
* the rep who helped with first line mentioned the 120 days but clarified thats for upgrade. She mentioned swapping is possible but to do it online because if any agent tries to do it, she said it would end the 1-year free promo
* the rep today said its not possible to do a swap before 120 days

I just tested the chat bot and it seems to have swap option. Any success stories in being able to swap and change devices before 120 days?
Yes. Swapped out a phone the night before last via the chat bot. Easy-peasy and the plan did not change. I had just ported in the day before from T-Mobile for my second year.

I know I have missed the boat; but trying to see if someone is kind enough to help me with "adding one line" on their free account.
I will pay line fees.
Thanks!

My Free BYOD is ending this month. Anyone know if sprint allows them to convert to unlimited kickstart $25 plan?

Why do you need a conversion? KS does not currently require you to be a new customer. In fact a KS line can coexist with a 1YF line on one account. The strategy would be to call retentions and see if they can beat KS. Others in the thread have reported better luck cancelling all service and having Sprint contact you first. i.e. you're better off playing hard to get. But I imagine this would mostly apply if you have multiple lines of service or there is something in your credit report/data mining profile which suggests that you're likely to drop nice coin with Sprint in the future. Now that the merger is almost guaranteed to go through, Sprint is probably less inclined to beg you to stay -- especially if you're coming off this Cheap Bastard Plan.

I see the following into the terms and conditions for unlimited KS plan

"Reqs. eBill and new account activation."

I guess I can sign up for new unlimited KS plan with new line. However it doesn't allow me to convert my existing Free 1 year Free BYOD plan to convert to KS plan. I think best way is to port out to another provider and then port back in to sprint KS plan again in order to keep my existing phone numbers..

Really? There's no option to "change plan" for that handset? In any case, i still think you should try for a retention offer and report back. ETA: I just tried it myself. Dotdotdot menu. More options. Plan details. Change plan. "We are unable to process your request at this time." So I guess chat or telesales is the only way to go atm.
