Exactly how does 6GB beat unlimited? KS is open right now. We're just having something of a contest to see who can get the best concession from retentions. So far, it seems the best offer is KS plus the first four months free, basically. Would love to see someone get hotspot. Even 10GB hotspot would be great. I'll wager that it will require multiple lines, expensive phones, and a stellar credit score. Plus a silver tongue for negotiation.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

I just called sales team and they said, a new Memo has released (Sprint Release) today and any new activations under existing BYOD One Year Free plan accounts will end on April 18th 2019. After April 18th 2019, they will not activate any new line under BYOD One Year free plan.

Act quickly, All the best!!

Not sure how reliable this is...but I am not surprised. I expected them to stop activating new lines under current BYOD plan after 4/4. Again time will tell.

This seems to go against the "at any time" language in the contract we signed. If they were really going to implement this, don't you think they'd e-mail all current subscribers informing them of this date and sudden change in policy? Would they do it on the down low? That would risk angering customers and might even inspire a few legal challenges. I would say this is just an enterprising CS agent trying to motivate you to sign up more lines with her now now now. But. This seems like a pretty specific and brazen fabrication. Recall that there was no formal announcement of the 4/4 date either. So maybe it is true. I guess what I'm saying is, I won't believe it until I hear from Andrew Chen's mouth!

The 18th is exactly 14 days past the last day for new sign-ups. Perhaps the CS was misinterpreting the grace period for activating a SIM card that was mailed out as a part of this deal. I hope so.

Maybe. When I specifically asked, he said there is a new Memo rolled out today, I was like really? On Sunday your Senior management thought of releasing such an important Memo? I thought of sharing what I got to know today. Someone can try calling them tomorrow to vet.

As previously mentioned, this may be the last date to finish setting up new accounts (SIMs in mail, etc.) when the application was in process.

Samsung and essential are pretty easy to work around.
Interested... I have both a Galaxy S7 and an Essential phone. Care to DM me the details, or post on here?
I'm waiting to switch lines from my previous (50 GB hotspot included) free plan (expires 8/30/19) to my new plan (expires 4/30/2020, no hotspot) because of the hotspot issue.

Do you know if that KS plan comes with hotspot?

By the way Sprint subsidiary Boost is offering a $25 a month unlimited plan with 8GB (edit: now 12GB) hotspot!

https://www.boostmobile.com/plans...mited.html
However I do not know if Boost is as liberal as its parent Sprint in swapping phones and in other policies.

post-edit:

I withdraw this suggestion as it seems the offer is over now.

So I received my Moto X4 SIM and will be starting a new 1 yr free plan soon.

What is the current best practice with respect to getting the protection plan. ( I don't want it.)

Do I say yes and then cancel online?
Should I wait to cancel after adding a second line?
How long do I have before getting billed for it?

Damn I hate these games. 😀

Thanks for all your help guys and gals!

Just say yes to expedite the call and do a big favor to the rep, who will be grateful, then half an hour later cancel by Chat (takes just 1 minute). Win - win.

thanks
my plan expires 1/30/2020
so i am a little early in looking for alternatives.
but...
thats pretty nice.
Taxes and fees included

other option would be to hop back on my family plan of 9 lines..
but i would be sharing 40gb data and will cost me $15 access fee+~$5 in other fees
