I had issues with my original Moto X4 (not signal, screen was bad). So my current one was fully replaced new with a manufacture date sometime in January 2019. I can't find many new batch issues, but maybe.

When you say got rid of band 26, I assume you mean you did something software wise to have the phone skip connecting to the band? Are you saying this because the phone will hold on to band 26 for dear life vs. roam?

Also, this is just to test Sprint again and have a full legit back up phone if needed (not some prepaid I got cheap with 25 texts and 25 minutes). I'm just lamenting Sprint still has done the bare minimum on building out a network and seeing band 41 drop the second I get near a twig is sad.

Also, Volte is a standard, I don't see why Sprint cannot implement it on a phone capable?
Adding VoLTE to a phone still requires going back and re-opening up the design of the software on the phone so that users can turn it on and off, so that it can be turned on and off by Sprint's account management, so that it can both hand-off to, and take hand-off from, Wifi Calling, so that it can be controlled by the PRL, etc. etc. Not to mention the integration testing and field testing. It is simply not cost effective to do this for older phones. Say it costs a couple of hundred thousand dollars per model. Nobody will spend that money except in joint partnerships between carrier and maker for new models.

Eventually, yes, it will be standard in all phones that work on Sprint.

As to band 41, I am sorry you have inadequate coverage but there are few problems now with it here in Raleigh NC, for example. I monitor bands constantly and it can maintain band 41 in almost all places. In a few, it instantly switches to 25 or 26 or to TMO roaming. That is perfectly normal and seamless and is not a problem.

You should be able to disable bands that are not working for you.

Not all phones get TMO roaming either.

Sprint VoLTE only started rolling out in November-December.

Does anyone know how long you have to wait after activating the phone before you can swap to another device you already own?

Day one - no delay.

However if the reason might be to try to swap on an ineligible model, nothing remotely like that is the case except in a tiny number of cases. It is just short of being a myth. Of course, you may have a completely different reason, and there are certainly many possible ones.

iPhones have WiFi calling. Settings/cellular turn on WiFi calling. I have seen some posts though that they get error message when trying to enable it. In this case you would need to call to fix that too. So best to try it first in case you need WiFi calling down the road.
yes, thank you this worked. I appreciate it very much

Any idea how to now get the visual voicemail to work throughout the iphone?

It is just saying "call voicemail" in the Phone app.

That would actually be the best way to reprovision..

Do try edog11's suggestion first though.

I have tried lots of the troubleshooting by Sprint and other unfortunately like the updates and resets.

........

Proving once again that we have people here such as edog11 and others with WAY more BYOD handset expertise than Sprint itself has, at least among those who are accessible!

I have a Sprint LG V30 that just will not activate. The BYOD checker says its fine and was already added to my account when I signed up. I swapped successfully to a Moto G6 without issues. But it will not swap back.

It would appear that the issue is SPCS is set to NO, even though this is a Sprint phone.

Any ideas? Would this be one of those times it needs a resku?.

Thanks guys

What is the exact error message?

Was it on an mvno in the interim?

Also try it in the TIng checker, then try again. Sometimes this fixes it.

Says, "Please check with your service provider to configure this device" or something similar.

Ting says FED but it signs up fine on Sprint and no warning when I enter the IMEI on the Sprint BYOD page.

No idea re MVNO. Ebay purchase, which may say it all right there..

Let's see what others say.
FED is not encouraging (Financial Eligibility Date issue). I guess that is probably the issue.

See what Swappa says.

Swappa says its fine as well.

The CSR ppl I've spoken to said its fine on their end but just wont activate.

Maybe the FED check doesnt show up for them, although I'd assume that it would have popped up immediately when you entered the IMEI.

Given FED I'm guessing it wasnt paid off, but again it doesnt show on Sprint.

Well you could try a corporate owned Sprint store.

The system might be suppressing the FED check error to hide it in order to be "discrete".
