And...all seems to be fixed. After I turned on roaming data, I can call and text while roaming now. Strange, but whatever. I also did another PRL update, and what Moto calls "Update Device Config" (I think same as update profile). But I think it was simply turning roaming data on that fixed it all. It's a darn good thing, because I'm working in Wyoming next, and Sprint's coverage is almost all roaming in that state.
I was hoping that would be the case.

I was going to post to you to try it but since you already said you were going to turn it on, did not do so.

There is no reason to ever turn roaming off. Sprint never charges for roaming even if you go over the limited quota of non-TMobile roaming and all that happens in that case is that,,,,oh I do not want to waste time writing an essay - you are fine.....

I used free international data roaming a few times, the speed is slow but usable for email and WhatsApp.

Tell them you are just using one of your 5 pre-approved lines that the offer says can be added at any time under your existing plan, and that other reps said this could continue to be done until your free year ends.

Also try Chat.

Most of the Carribean countries work, so it comes in handy if you go on a cruise and can't buy a sim card for each port. It's mad slow though. More like 2G speed. Can't do much google search but it works well with Google Map and WhatsApp text.

It also works in Most of Europe. So far I tried the UK, France, Italy, Greece, Czech, Austria, Portugal and they work well. It's a little faster in Europe but still mad slow. Around 3G speed. I can send pictures but no video streaming.

I got the best speed in Asia. Japan is the fastest and I can watch youtube with it. I used 10GB when I was in Japan. Also works well in Thailand, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong.

It can be escalated if need be but it is best to try a few times first.

Thanks, good to know. Will be making a trip down under, the Mideast and around south east Asia soon. Hope it's near the same, so I don't have to keep looking for local sims.
