My plan is ending at the end of May. If I port my number out to tello and stay away from sprint for some time (at least 3 months), would I have problem later if I ever want to come back to sprint? and btw what is PLBL flag?
The discussion we just had applies equally to you without change, even after 3 months. There is no point my typing it in all over again.

If coming back is only a remote possibility, you can go with Tello if you want because you will be able to get back on Sprint, just not without some potentially significant time and effort. It would not bother me, but I will concede some people have tried and given up because it was "too much trouble."

PLBL means Private Label which means the phone is not allowed on Sprint Postpaid until further action is taken.

If you want more background, you can find it here:

It's a problem only if you want to be considered a new customer for any future promo Sprint might be having. Tello uses the Sprint network. This, combined with the fact that Tello always sets the PLBL flag and refuses to change it back at the end of service, would lead me to lead you away from Tello. I think the original intent of the PLBL flag was to prevent people from getting a heavily subsidized phone from a prepaid service and using on postpaid. But Tello does this ownership flag monkey business with fully paid off phones that you bring to them... which I think is wrong. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I got confused with PLBL flag from Tello. In which case they put flag on that IMEI?
Currently I am using a phone on tello, if I want to use it on sprint in future what to do exactly. Earlier I used that phone on sprint and that number was ported out to different provider.

That flag is always set when a phone is activated on a Sprint MVNO. Some MVNO's will remove it when you leave. Others such as Tello will not.
.
There is nothing that can be done now.

It is too complicated to go into in full detail until you are actually at that point, but basically:

When/if you are ready to move it back to Sprint:
(1) Get it totally off the Sprint network onto either a non-Sprint carrier or simply off all carriers
(2) Test it in the Sprint BYOD checker. If it says the phone is eligible, you can simply proceed.
If it says "you owe Sprint," that is the indication that the flag needs to be dealt with (as just discussed, Sprint Community or Store or Reddit etc - too complicated to go into in detail until the time comes).

If tello sets this flag, does it reset it if I swap the phone out from tello? I know that's very easy from tello's site.
nvm. Just saw above that tello does not reset it.

I'm not much help, I just wing it way back to the ringplus days. I never did port a number since I give out my GV number to all my Tello phones. They all ring if I leave them on. This is the first I've heard about problems leaving Tello but I never had that problem. With Free Swaps I can just switch out the phone with an old burner. That would pretty much free it up right away to sell or use on another MVNO. Tello deal for $3 is only good for one more day.

Correct. But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about using the phone on Sprint postpaid some time in the future. In any case, it's not as big a deal as we're making it out to be. Just open a ticket with Sprint or ask somebody on reddit to flip the flag for you. It's just that when you're trying to take advantage of a (unknown, future) hot offer and under time constraint, that extra step is a nuisance. And an unecessary one at that. Tello shouldn't be touching that flag if you own your phone.

I have moto G6 play from Boost too. I called 2x and didn't get it unlocked. They said they will do it but nothing happen. Finally used sprint worldwide chat support and got it unlocked within few days. Just let them know you are travelling and need the phone both international and domestic unlocked.
Thanks! Will try that.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but is it possible to move 4/5 of my lines to my SO?

If yes can I add 4 more after?

Assuming your SO ALREADY HAS this offer, YES.

You will have to port out all 4 to a temporary carrier such as TMo Prepaid, then have your SO port them in. See Wiki for details.

But you could avoid that by just adding the additional lines that you are trying to add to your SO's account in the first place.

If you mean open a NEW account for your SO, NO, you cannot do that, since the offer is now closed to new accounts..

I meant transfer of ownership so between the 2 of us, we can have 10 lines.

I don't see how it could work. The plan is per account, not per line. If you transfer it, you would lose your own account's access to the plan. I do not see that there is any way you can add the plan to an additional account.

Also the plan is now grandfathered only. Nobody has been able to transfer a $15 grandfathered KickStart plan yet and lots have tried. The people who are selling them are having to keep it in their own name and just sell the password. .

The only thing you could try is asking them to increase the limit from 5 to 10 lines. I doubt they will do that either but you could try. They did it earlier on for some people. This is normally a credit department decision.

By the way I just cancelled a line by calling Account Services at their little-known direct number of 844-382-3317.
It look me 2 minutes. No wait, no transfers. (Account Services handles only Retention/Cancellation and Unlocks, not customer service, not support issues but people get the departments mixed up so they do not give out the number).

She did not even try to sell me anything except she said I could have a $20 credit if I kept it. I said no thanks and that was that.

She said she gave me a 24-hour cancel as it was past month end or something like that (I did not even ask but I think she meant so I did not have to pay another month)..

To me, it was less trouble than porting out.
was your line canceled after 24 hrs? cause I called this number and the rep said it would be canceled after 24 hrs for the system to process, however it is now 48 hours and the line is still active.

This has been probably answered earlier, but would appreciate if someone can clarify what service(s) I would get when traveling internationally if I'm on the free plan.. Will I be able to get internet or text services enabled?
