It was but now its not working. I can only get data but no voice and text. I'll try another sprint store today but so far its been a pain in the ass to get a sim for my pixel xl...
Did you try carrier reset? You shouldn't need new sim if it was working last year.
Dial *#*#72786#*#*, call
Also you have to add imei and iccid(sim number) on your account you can't just switch Sims around.

I have the google pixel xl which I used previously on the plan (last year). What happen is I tried to use a sim from my daughters old iphone but it doesnt work for my google pixel xl so now my phone has data but no voice and text. I went to two sprint stores and both stores told me they dont sell the sim for my google pixel xl which is upsetting.
Sprint stores do not sell that phone so those morons know nothing.
But we can look it up easily enough..
Looking at the chart, Pixel XL takes *SIMOLW506C* or SIMGLW446C or SIMOLW416C.

Therefore you can use EITHER
"Bring Your Own Phone 4-in-1 Sim Kit" (UPC 760492044707) which contains SIMOLW506TQ, SIMOLW416Q, *SIMOLW506C*, and SIMOLW516TQ. Available at corporate-owned Sprint stores for $2.99 or free for fixing problems supposedly.

OR
The Boost sim kit available at Best Buy which contains SIMOLW416Q + *SIMOLW506C* + SIMOLW506TQ SIM cards inside) ($9.99)

(quoting our very useful Wiki in both cases).

They probably have the individual sim as well.

Phones that were previously on Fi usually have to be released by Fi as well.

I pretty much knew it would be in both kits because it is an older phone. The store would know that too if they had an ounce of knowledge or common sense. They have neither. You have dumb people in your local Sprint stores.

Also there is no reason the old sim would not work either. Sprint sims never expire and can always be reused. Pay no attention to any advice to the contrary from non-nothing sales reps. So that is not the real problem. But you can replace it if you want. As edog11 notes, you cannot just put the sim in. You have to update the portal with the ICCID.

If you used the phone on an mvno such as Fi recently that may be the problem.

My BYOD plan does not expire until March 2020. I do not have a need for it so I called to cancel the line and the rep has it set to cancel on June 2nd. I got an email saying if I come back I can get $100 in the form of 12 months of $10 bill credits. Seeing how my plan is less than $10 a month would this apply to me at all?
It is a service credit only. Can that be spent on taxes? I do not know but you can ask. Is there some service you could add to use up the credit? Maybe international calling?

Can you save up the service credits and use them later, maybe for kickstart after April 2020? Again you could ask.

The update is out but the IMEI needs to be added to the database (aka "whitelisted")..

There are several ways to request that. Here are a couple:

(1) Call the usual number 1-866-782-8777 to add the phone to your plan in the normal way via a port-in and tell them they need to have it added to the database first. They will see that it shows as ineligible at first, but you can tell them others have added it successful now and they just need to get help from support to get it added.

OR

(2) Try calling Sprint advanced tech support at 888-206-3585 and give them your IMEI and ask them to add it to the database so that you can move it from Verizon. In this case you just want them to add it to the database and then once it shows as eligible in the BYOD checker you will add it to the plan separately yourself by calling the number ending in 8777..

Either should work.

Hello, Sprint said I can order the magic box gold for free, but it will be added onto the account as an active line. Can any expert here please confirm that it is absolutely free? Free like no fees, no surcharges, no taxes? Thank you hug

Yes it is totally free. I have had two of them.

It is semi-pointless to have it though, if you have wifi.

It may only serve to block the best quality VoLTE, add its own outages where it puts out a bad blank signal that blocks the good real one, adds latency, etc.

Was this after scheduling cancellation, and then going through the come back offer? I thought in a previous post you had stated only one of your BYOD lines was going to expire this month.
Anyway, it seems like stevenSDer's experience may have been a one-time fluke, but still worth a try, I'll see what they have to say I guess.
So after scheduling cancellation (and not even bothering to port out) I contacted Recovery. They wouldn't allow extending the end date of the free plan (actually the agent said they would call me back but never did so I contacted them again the next day and got a "no"). By that time the scheduled cancellation had happened.
They would have allowed switching to Kickstart or to the up to 5 lines for $100 Unlimited Basic 1yr promo, but with either of those they wanted to reduce the come back credit to only $50/line because those plans are "already discounted." To get the full service credit of up to $250/line you apparently have to sign up for a non-promo plan.

I was scheduled to cancel 3 lines on the 27th. I guess I'm not going to call them now.

Thanks very much for sharing the outcome as it helps people plan their eventual exit.
I guess it is not very encouraging although I have given up on the idea of using kickstart anyway because it is completely
deprioritized which means you can get slowed down to a crawl if the tower gets overloaded.
