What a F.. nightmare!

I called on may 31 to cancel my 3 remaining lines, 4th was in the process of being ported. Billing cycle ends June 2.

June 6, I found out I had a bill for $159.25. I am out of the country so this time and asked via chat what happened. Apparently my account was NOT cancelled.

After arguing with them, they agreed to credit my account.

June 8, I checked my account and no longer see any lines and asked via chat the credit. They said I will only get a credit of $123 and that's what the previous supervisor computed.

I said NO F way! It is your incompetencies that caused this issue. CSR kept insisting that bill was for before I cancelled. I said my bill says I'm being charged $159.25 for services for June 3 to July 2 so I should get a credit for the entire amount

They agreed after I threatened to escalate the issue to social media!

I have a case number for both chats. (I removed my credit cards on my account so I wasnt auto billed)
Easiest way to cancel, as noted in Wiki, is to port out. That kills the lines and account instantly and is fool-proof.

The only other way to cancel is to call Account Services / Retentions 844-382-3317. Maybe you did. Other departments SHOULD transfer you to them. Retentions always tries to get you to stay by making offers etc. If they did not do that, it was probably not retentions. Customer Service and Support cannot do cancels and neither can Chat.

It sounds as if you sorted it out well though.

Yeah, I think porting out my 3rd yr is what I will do. I ported out 2 numbers on my 2nd yr and that worked out well. I didnt feel like paying to port out the 3 other lines and now I'm 'paying' for it in terms of headache!

I think thats the the number I called to cancel.

But what's is funny is the chat folks I got transferred to was able to cancel my line!

Yes it can work, but then you unfortunately have disaster if it happens not to work. Also there may be a difference between cancelling a line and cancelling the account. I doubt that anybody but Retentions can successfully cancel a whole account. It is crucial to Sprint that they forbid account cancellations being done by anyone other than specially trained Sales people in Retentions. (Or by port out, of course, only because they have to allow that to work to conform to FCC porting regulations).

Hi
Today I had to change my phone. I bought a new phone and compatible SIM card and activated it online. There was only one way I could swap the phone---- by going through Activate-upgrade link. I just want to make sure that SPRINT did change the plan and I am still on BYOD free plan. Is there any way to confiorm it for sure? I could not figure it out- it seems they changed the account setting----the old way to see the plan details is not there anymore. Thank you in advance for suggestion/s

Yes you CANNOT use that sim as I told you!

Get the one specific to your new model from an Apple store or order the multi sim kit that has sims for all major phones for $2.99 from

Yes run the MySprint App in your phone.

However it is
(1) Select your device, the the triple dot on the far right, then Manage Devices
(2) Select Options
(3) Select Activate Device
(4) It will prompt "Your New Device?"

NOT Upgrade.

I just looked.

Otherwise you may have done it wrong and it may now be a paid line. Try to move fast if so. Maybe they can undo it easily if you Chat right away or call Order Management.

My Sprint/ account dashboard. Click 3 dot menu by device, select manage devices. Click view plan details then click see details under data, talk, text usage black boxes.
Or use Sprint app(easier) which sometimes offers free goodies.

Theoretically you can go to a Sprint corporate-owned store but most of them will not give or sell them in many cases. They might give you one since you are an existing customer.

An Apple Store or Best Buy is usually a surer bet.

Surest of all is to order online.

Be very careful not to let a Sprint store actually swap the sim. Some of them will add extras to your account etc if you let them touch it. ESPECIALLY a non-Corpore store.

Log out of your account and use the link I gave you. Did you do that or use some other link? Say you are not an existing account holder if it asks.

Or use a different browser.

Anyway it says it can send the code to email. Did you try that?
