Yes run the MySprint App in your phone.

However it is
(1) Select your device, the the triple dot on the far right, then Manage Devices
(2) Select Options
(3) Select Activate Device
(4) It will prompt "Your New Device?"

NOT Upgrade.

I just looked.

Otherwise you may have done it wrong and it may now be a paid line. Try to move fast if so. Maybe they can undo it easily if you Chat right away or call Order Management.
Thanks alot

My Sprint/ account dashboard. Click 3 dot menu by device, select manage devices. Click view plan details then click see details under data, talk, text usage black boxes.
Or use Sprint app(easier) which sometimes offers free goodies.
Thanks

Plus Sprint is usually very strict with service credits and they have to be used on the same numbers they were earned for.
When I know for sure in a couple months, I'll let everyone know. I'm hoping the service credits belong to the account as a whole and not to each individual line.

If anyone has a line they'd be willing to sell please let me know. Ideally with tethering but I'll risk doing it the unofficial way if necesary.

My grandmother is 93 years old, of her 4 children, 2 died this year, one being my mother who passed 3 months ago today from Parkinson's. My worthless uncle, the polar opposite of my mother, died of cirrhosis of the liver from a lifetime of alcoholism about 6 months earlier. Her oldest son died about 20 years ago after a accident in the navy + chrohns disease left him all messed up.

My one productive uncle is across the country. I'd like to give my grandma the echo show I purchased for my mother before she passed away abruptly.

But she has no internet, no home phone, all her neighbors are elderly & the same situation. When she broke her femur from a minor fall while doing yard work (yes she's amazing I know) she realized she had to start being more careful, but she's also depressed now for the first time in her life. I was my mom's caretaker for 10 years, starting at age 22, and I'd call my grandma for her every day, so shes....

Ok this is slickdeals I'm sorry let me stfu, the point is I'd like to have a phone with internet access so as to enable her to use video chat via Alexa. (She can barely use her flip phone, actual phone based apps aren't an option, but tethering an echo show is)

She's paying like 90% of her Social security check to 2 credit card bills that she tries to say accumulated just from stuff around the house, but that"stuff" was almost certainly my worthless uncle that literally died still mooching off his mommy.

TL;DR: i would like to be able to set up a phone that can function as a hotspot for echo based video chat and as a emergency call device etc., so if anyone got a line but the coverage is poor or whatever the case , msg me please. Thanks.

Everyone else, sorry for the novel.

Sure.

If a new paid line got created inadvertently, and they do not undo it immediately, you should just port it out to kill it off quickly, and you should be able to refund it under the 14/30 day satisfaction guarantee.

Then you can do the swap you wanted.

Did you just want to park the number with no access?

If you want some access, how much (if any) data do you want per month?

We need to know that to mention possibilities in that range.

Or look here for plans free and up:

This is for a kid. He was using lot of data. We tried putting limits on screen time and screen lock. He keeps on breaking our restrictions either by jail break or something. We just want to get talk and text feature. Then he can use wifi to do rest of the stuff.

Personally I would port to Tello in that case. You can use it pay as you go for months at a time on a $10 deposit or get a low cost plan.

https://tello.com/

You could choose a plan with little or no data.
Alternatively, I think you would be able to set paygo to exclude data use also. There is a toggle:
"Pay As You Go 4G LTE Data: Keep this feature ON if you want to enjoy 4G LTE speed from your Pay As You Go balance at 2ยข/MB"

I am guessing turning that off would mean no data. You can call them to be sure.

I have PAYG with them even though I do not really need it, just because it costs essentially nothing to keep it going.

Tello is a high reputation Sprint mvno.

(There are zero cost plans on certain gimmick-ridden mvno's but they are full of gotchas and tricks.)

Or use a different browser.

Anyway it says it can send the code to email. Did you try that?

That sounds ok but I am a little curious because the link I posted is for the multisim kit that includes sims for ALL eligible phones. You do not specify the model. The kit covers all BYOD models. That is what is generally recommended to order because people do not have to be able to, or need to, choose the correct model to order successfully..

I guess you did something else.

Anyway, swapping is easy - I posted detailed instructions at
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=128089690&postcount=40616

AND you do not have to do it yourself at all unless you want to. You can just chat to swap.

Can anyone confirm if we can still add new lines to existing FREE BYOD plans. I called in yesterday and they mentioned that system is not allowing them to add new lines.
