I did actually went to the store, but it was to get the sim kits. I didn't want to wait for shipping. It cost $3.xx ish with tax. I did know not to talk to them about the plan, it was solely to get the SIM. Smilie
Perfect! (as long as you have the self-discipline not to hand over the phone or your number).

I see you have the self-discipline. A lot of people to do not. I cannot tell who will be which.

Also some stores refuse, quite a few people have reported..

I think the shipping is overnight (may vary).

I am glad it worked well for you.

Based on others' reports, you beat the odds.

Ohh so now these guys are offering credits on a monthly basis for retention Big Grin

When my Sprint free offer ended back in November 2018, and I moved out to other provider... Sprint offered me flat $750 credits to bring 2 lines back.. and I did!
Did they offer you this immediately or was it an email offer later to come back?

No you cannot because KickStart requires a new line only..
Unless maybe Retentions would waive that.

Anyway it is better to port out and then you will get a recovery offer (see recent posts) which can include KickStart.plus service credit.
The Wiki focuses on porting in vs porting out (mostly). Is there a number to call about porting out? How would I ported out/cancelled the magic box?

Are people porting out to t-mobile/att or are they just doing GV/empty sim and not caring about losing service?

Much appreciated and thanks in advance for the great help and advice!

Usually not, in actual practice, and you risk losing the free plan if you go to a store.
The best plan is to "never set foot in a Sprint store," to quote Desi.

Two people here just wasted days running around in circles trying to do it that way. There is no store support for this plan.

Just order this kit of sims
https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ndent=true
for $2.99

It supports ALL supported BYOD phones from other carriers (and most Sprint models).

First, what is the phone model and have you checked that it is eligible in the byod checker?

Then chat to swap after you get the sim. It takes one minute. You can also start it online but some people have been messing that up so just chat to do it.
760492034500 is my item number which is a universal sim.
Currently I have a Google pixel. Trying to move to an LG V20
I think I need a new sim, but I'm unsure
Will chat tell me if I need a new sim?

Agreed!

Which is included in either version of the 4 in one or 3 in one sim kit so you can just order the 4 in one kit from
https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ndent=true
for $2.99 .

Be sure to check your imei first in the sprint imei checker to be sure of compatibility. A

As I recall most if not all non-Sprint branded V20 are incompatible.

To port out, you mainly deal with the destination carrier. Could be TMobile Prepaid.

You had better keep the number initially because if you want a recovery offer it has to be the same exact number.

To port out a magic box number, you can either just cancel it which will not take effect until end of bill cycle, but for faster death it is better to port it to H2O or some have suggested sideline and let it die.

To return the magic box, request a return kit on the dashboard or Chat.

Regarding the port out - I was referring to any account number/pins needed from Sprint to be able to port out. Similar to the Port-In and getting all the GV info.

Ok on the magic box. Thanks!

The port out account is your regular Sprint account number.
The pin is your regular Sprint account pin.

This is the same for all your lines and numbers.

In that particular case, you can use the same sim because those two phones happen to use the same sim part. (The Chart is linked to in the Wiki by the way for those interested in the details).

Just Chat to swap (unless you are technically oriented enough to do it online starting from the dashboard without messing up your account, as some have done).

If you prefer to order a new sim to make it a little easier and avoid moving the sim back and forth, order this kit:

https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ndent=true

for $2.99 . It includes sims for all phones that are listed as eligible (omitting only one or two Sprint only models)..

Just fyi for those thinking ahead to the end, one alternative may be KickStart at $25 a month, as you know.

For those with a current FreedomPop CDMA (Sprint) account, these are being taken over by Ting, which is expected to possibly.offer FP refugees a $20 plan similar to KickStart.

This could be an alternative to KickStart

This plan will not be offered to the general public.

So if you have an old free FP CDMA plan, you might want to dust it off and be sure it is active..

I will do so and test out the coming offer.
