I am afraid that is the case. The lease cannot continue if you port out and back in. This is discussed all the time on reddit r/sprint if you want to look there but there is basically no solution there either.

Would the $40 2GB plan not work for one line?
I mean I just would feel like I was getting ripped off for 2GB for $40. They can't offer me any promotion until current promotion is over(they said they can't even view them until it's over)...so I guess i'll just wait until the first day i'm switched over to the $60 plan and then ask them to do something for me(if anybody has any experience on what they can do let me know...trying to search the thread).

Did you talk to Retentions 844-382-3317? They are the only department that can make retention offers. They can make deals ahead of time (unlike the general support number that I suspect you may have called). I would suggest call Retentions at 844-382-3317.

But retention offers are still inferior to Recover/Winback offers after you leave, and you cannot leave without winding up your lease/ installment purchase agreement.

The best option may be to pay it off and sell it from what I have heard. Then you are free.

But really this is not the best place to get much help on this. People here on this free BYOD plan do not ordinarily buy phones from Sprint. There is active discussion on reddit under r/Sprint. I would suggest that forum. These issues are discussed there all the time.

FYI, if you trying to port out of Sprint, don't use Sideline if you have a time constraint. They can take 3-5 days to port in.

Just fyi for those thinking ahead to the end, one alternative may be KickStart at $25 a month, as you know.

For those with a current FreedomPop CDMA (Sprint) account, these are being taken over by Ting, which is expected to possibly.offer FP refugees a $20 plan similar to KickStart.

This could be an alternative to KickStart

This plan will not be offered to the general public.

So if you have an old free FP CDMA plan, you might want to dust it off and be sure it is active..

I will do so and test out the coming offer.
i have a deactivated global 200 freedompop plan. i have no phone or imei number associated with my account, am not sure if i have ported the number out or what. i still have my crdit card on file but i have zero charges for more than a year now. am trying to close the account online and it is giving me an error. i try to email fredompop support but it won't let me because i am not a member of their vip service. wonder if i need to ursue closing it or just leave it as is, deactivated.

Thanks!
I just reactivated a couple of my old FP Sprint accounts so that I will be sure to be eligible for any great Ting takeover offers (there are rumors of a very decent one-time offer).

It is just to keep another option open in case the Sprint TMo merger is suddenly approved and Sprint suddenly ends the Kickstart offer etc (not likely but one never knows for sure).

Are the Samsung S9 and S9+ working ok on this. I'm not happy with the Moto G6 play and Visible has a S9 with a $200 rebate so makes the phone pretty reasonable. You need 2 months of service with them to get the $200 rebate but still probably worth it.

All US S9 and S9+ can be activated once they are unlocked. This includes both carrier branded models, once unlocked, and factory unlocked models. S9 and S9+ have carrier switching based on sim insertion.

Whether and when Visible will unlock the phone is not something I have looked into. It sounds as if you have though.

Thanks for those interested according to Visible via chat these phones are supposed to be totally unlocked so not a bad price after the $200 master card (debit tho and online only)
