Thanks.
All roaming settings have always been enabled.

I called the # for unlock and spoke with them, actually he placed me on hold most of the time, for over 31 minutes. He claimed he tried to unlock it a few ways and couldnt so he has to send a ticket to the back office and it will take up to 72 hours. We'll see. Also he never asked for the ESN, but I guess they have that info.
Sounds hopeful at least. Obviously the possibility exists that they will decline because it is a Boost model. Some people have succeeded though.

Chatted with retentions last night, wouldn't give in on the Kickstart option but she was obviously trying to get me to outright say I'd be switching otherwise for the record. Claimed I'd be getting an email with a super special offer that was in the works from top management, Suspect it's something they can already offer but for whatever reason want to send it as a "Since you're so special to us" type invite. Maybe it's the KickStart plus service credit you mention?

so u didnt actually cancel
but u gonna get a email with an offer?

is that right?
sorry, a little confused

Just spoke with retentions earlier today since my free plan expires in about 2 months and wanted to see what they would offer. I was told there were no plans they can offer to me except the regular unlimited plan. So I chatted with an online agent from "recover" link from previous post and asked how long before I csn qualify for the $250 / line one I port out and was told it would be immediately. Anyone have any experience of porting out and porting back in within say 1 day and getting the $250/line credit? tia

edit: if so whats the cheapest option to port out and port back in?

As has been noted, some have even been able to do it without porting out at all.

I already noted this in the steps I gave at https://slickdeals.net/f/10235008-sprint-byod-1-year-unlimited-talk-text-data-free-w-eligible-device-sim-req?p=128482822#post128482822

In step 1, call Retentions prepared to cancel then and there in the same phone call and effective at a FUTURE DATE. They will ignore you if you say you will do it in a later call. If they will not deal, cancel then and there in the same call, but effective at the end of a plan month! Then, still sitting there still active on the free plan, but with weeks to go until the now-scheduled cancel takes effect, call Recovery and see if you can take up their offer without having ported out at all. This is already noted and covered in the steps I gave.

Asking Retentions what they would do IF you cancelled is not the same thing and will not get you any Retentions offers. They're not that stupid that you can bluff them like that. You may find they sing a different tune when you call to actually cancel. Again, if you do the steps as I suggested them, all of these contingencies, including what you mention, are already built-in and optimized.

I do not know if anyone has done it all same day. I am sure they will post if so. But as per the above, hopefully you may not need to port out at all. And if you do, you do.

FYI:

My Bill Alerts is:
Quote :
We wanted to remind you that your 1-Year Free Service intro pricing ended 5/31/19. This bill shows your new pricing
.
However, they put me into $60 plan effective my billing period that started in May, making that message is not true. The pricing changes on the last billing date, before the message ended day.

The retention offer of $100 billing statement that i was told when I called in May is also have not applied to this statement.

I will have to pay for another second month as one line of my account has failed to be ported out, and they refused to cancel it before the port out request was released by H20.

BTW,
I could not cancel the SERO years ago and had to file with BBB at the time. After that I was not able to sign up again till this deal. They refused siting bad credit, which is no true.

Will they not prorate? (Others here are expert on that though).

In any case you should hopefully be able to get a full refund of the paid plan anyway under their satisfaction guarantee if you called to cancel within x days (I think x is 30 but it might be 14 in this case) after the new plan started.

If it is two months it may be harder.

I would call Retentions at 844-382-3317 (not any other department) and ask them these questions. I think you can use your account number if the phone numbers are no longer active on Sprint and it will not take them.

I believe billing credits are not applied until/unless you stay a full month. I would ask them if the offer was noted on the account and if they will honor it.

Thank you for your time. No, they are not prorating. Retention said go to the sprint store for their satisfaction guarantee within 60 days of the device initial purchase. Can not offer that over the phone. The $100 offer was not noted and they promised like really promised it would be offered this time.

Darn I think they changed the satisfaction guarantee from what it used to be. Now it no longer covers plan charges.

It pays to insist any retention offer be noted on the account and to get it checked as being there via Chat but I know that is not obvious to do.

If you want you could try escalating re the promise.

Thanks. The lines that ported out have $0 charge till the June statement date, while the line that has failed to port out has $65 charge.

There are many posts on this tread that there is no prorating. I knew my year ends in May; however, the statement message that it would be the very end of the month, made me believe the plan would change with June statement date.
Yes there are such statements here, but on reddit there are statements that there is prorating, including some I think by Sprint reps. For example https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...ycle_runs/ which may not be by a Sprint rep but I have seen others that were.

I did not take a position - I just asked because I suspect someone can probably sort it out.. Perhaps there is a difference when a plan changes within a period, versus when an account closes short of a period or something like that.

Somebody should figure this out but since there are others here who know more than me, and it seems to be complicated, I am hoping someone will take a stab at it. Let's see. You may still be in the right here.

... Question 1: how long comeback offer good for? ...
2nd question, can comeback offer ($100, no activation fee) be applied to Kickstart too? and not just for regular $60 plan? Thanks....

Answering myself ...
Q1: I ported all my lines out over a month ago, comeback offer still good if i choose one of their regular plans. I'm not.
Q2: big fat NO. They CANNOT give $100 to Kickstart plan, price is already too low. but... but... kickstart is on sprint website good for anybody, what do i get for coming back? NOTHING. well, maybe we'll give u $50 if you do it TODAY, this $50 expires TODAY... bla bla bla.

felt like I was being hustled for ... $50 ... like them saying "TAKE MY MONEY AND SHUT UP!" OK, so I only brought one line back, to Kickstart, and got $50. If I had chosen the $60 plan, I would have had to pay 1-2 months of it before seeing the $100 credit. Besides, if the Kickstart v2 offer disappears again, there's no guarantee that current customers paying $60 can convert to kickstart, even now when tKickstart v2 is on their website, people still have to actually cancel and port back to get it. I already missed out on a 2nd free 1yr, and missed the earlier better kickstart v1. OK, I'll shut up now .

Hey, it wasn't really a comeback offer, but then again, who else will give you a year's service for free? thanks Sprint for last year's free plan. and thanks for this $50. Ok, i'll shut up...

They charged you for the full May X - June X statement period, instead of prorating June 1 - X and not honoring free until May 31?

That is really messed up.

As has been discussed dozens of times, Sprint bills in advance(at beginning of bill cycle) that is why your first statement is generated right after you sign up.
So on your June X statement you were billed for service for June X thru July X-1day on the one remaining line.
You were billed $0+(surcharges+taxes) for May X thru June X-1day on your May X statement for your 3 lines. That is why it is always recommended to port out or cancel before end of bill cycle. Per terms and conditions there is no proration of partial month when leaving. Only time I've seen proration was adding a line during a bill cycle, but it was a free line so there was no charge(not even surcharges and tax) for first partial month on added line. Can't comment about bill credits.
