The link you gave has two options, to call or chat. Is it better to chat rather than calling as it gives you evidence that you made a chat with them?
One or two people have done chat and liked the result.

I personally would (and did) call because I can get all sorts of subtle things across both directions by voice. People will make incidental remarks over voice that they would not type out.

I would go for Chat if it were a difficult situation but this one really is not in my opinion. There is just a fixed set of offers that everybody gets who qualifies according to the computer. Then you choose one. Nobody has reported any difficulty of any consequence really. If there were an issue you could just call (or chat) back.

You don't really need an email anyway. All it is is a link to https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...print.html [sprint.com] and as I far as I can see you can just call. They do not need a code off the email or anything - they just ask for your phone number. They did ask me where I heard about the offer.

However I think I would give it a few working days. - not because you need the email but just to look typical.
Perfect. I just chatted with Sprint via that link and successfully converted both lines on my account to Unlimited Kickstart effective after this billing cycle. They also offered $250 in credit per line if I chose to change to Unlimited Basic but Kickstart is what I really wanted.

Probably wouldn't have been able to do it if not for your guide, so thank you!

Thank you that is very kind of you and I am glad to hear it (namely the steps at https://slickdeals.net/f/10235008-sprint-byod-1-year-unlimited-talk-text-data-free-w-eligible-device-sim-req?p=128482822#post128482822) is working for everybody.

Thank you for replying, our account is under my husband and if I call, they always want to talk to the person who owned the account so that's why I asked!

I got the $250 per line for the free plan.
That's good news. Do you have multiple lines, and if so, do you get the discounted price on lines 3-5 until 6/30/2020?

One of my phones on my 1 year free plan was stilll locked by Sprint (insurance replacement) so I called them to request an unlock and the rep who processed my unlock asked me why I wanted to unlock. Obviously I told her I was porting out and she told me she could give me one more year of free service if I bought a phone and activated a new line. It sounded too good to be true since the Iphone 8 is only $10 a month. I said yes immediately and was transferred to telesales where they proceeded to check my account and told me that that was not the case. My promo would end 7/31 and then I wuld be charged the amount mentioned in the email 60/40/30...\\

Well *IF* you really want the offer (see below for my suggestion on that) you can call the Account Services Rep back at 844-382-3317 as it appears there is mixup. Account Services/Retentions has more clout than TeleSales and will be able to override. The offer should have been noted on your account for the TeleSales rep to read and follow the instructions given. Probably it was and the TeleSales rep failed to read it. Ask Account Services if it was so noted and to read it to you and to conference call with TeleSales to straighten it out.

HOWEVER the offer is probably not worth taking anyway because their underlying idea is that the 18 month offer payment will balloon at the end of the 12 month free period unless you let the free plan balloon into a high-cost paid plan. There is no way out of that.

In general, no phone sale offer they make has any value and you can just say no and save yourself a lot of wasted time and energy.

It is interesting though that they are extending the free plan in a few cases.

Perfect!

I predict you will get the Recovery offer - everyone has so far as I can tell - but if not, you have a fully planned out route which is good. (By the way, personally, I think the Ting $20 offer may continue after year-end for existing account holders despite what they say officially).
UGHHH

I called last Sunday 7-14 and cancelled my plan effective at the end of my billing period - 8-4.

Today I called the recovery number and they said the plan shows as active - and no cancellation is in the system. ARGHHHH So the rep on Sunday never put the cancellation in even though she told me she did. Arghhh The recovery rep couldn't do anything for me re: recovery offers and transferred me to a customer service rep (not even retention)

The new regular CSR had no plans to offer me and I asked her to cancel effective at the end of my billing period. It took a while but she says she did.

I will see - if it is not in there for a recovery offer on Saturday or Sunday I am just porting out

Ughhh

If I port out to Ting - I can just reuse my current Sprint SIM card - correct?
Will there be an issue if I then chose to port back in to Sprint from Ting at some later date with the SIM card or phone?

My other option is doing a port out to US Mobile which I have recently obtained a SIM card for

I have heard people say that cancellations occasionally get lost due to a computer glitch or entry error by the rep or whatever. Most likely it will be fine now.

TMobile and Sprint have promised no changes to existing plans for 3 years.

That technically may not apply to promotions like this but they will honor existing promotions too,. Sprint is merging, not going bankrupt or selling off assets. The new company will inherit all contracts of its two predecessors.

I called the retention number again and this time when the agent asked why I wanted to cancel the plan, i told him that the previous agent promised me 1 extra year of service and telesales would not honor that. He then proceeded to make notations on my account and gave me an incident id and told me that the telesales would have their own discretion but he can def try to get me that deal. THis time the 1 year extension was without buying a new phone which was great.

Well telesales shot me down again. They again said that the line that I was porting in was going to have the free service until 7/31 only. By this time I had already spent close to 1 hours on the phone and decided to port out in oder to get the welcome promo f $250 credit.

I ordered 4 tmobile sim cards from ebay for $14 and will activate the $3 plan on them when they arrive and will try to get the unlimited basic (need 5 lines) for $100. I asked the retention department via chat to give me the $250 credit with the unlimited basic but she would not do it.
