Can anybody share experience swapping phones (devices) within this plan? Is this the way to go: Note 2: for services like swapping in phones etc, CALL ACCOUNT SERVICES 844 665 6327. Or use chat, where a chatbot efficiently swaps devices, with no error-prone humans involved.
When I click Activation in My Sprint, I see 3 buttons, none seems to applicable. Tello for example makes it much easier. Thanks in advance!

Well there are several ways. Some people iike one way, some another.

Personally I do it starting on the web site.

Do do it on the web site, click the 3 vertical dots to the right of the phone you wish to swap OUT.

Select Manage / Pay off

Select Options

Select Activate Device

Enter the IMEI of your new device

You may still get directed to Chat to complete it the first couple of times, but then it will start remembering the swaps you did.

There are multiple deals and I am not sure which specific ones you are referring to.

As to S10,
S10/10+ factory unlocked will work on Sprint,
S10/10+ other carrier unlocked will not.

People think those are the same thing but they are not. They may be the same thing for iPhones but they are not for Samsung phones.

There is no difference between Kickstart and Free BYOD plans as to what phones will work unless maybe you are referring to pricing/bundling issues in certain offers.

What free BYOD plan restrictions are you referring to? Any free and clear fully compatible phone is eligible.
https://community.sprint.com/t5/D...-p/1020211

Sprint is stricter about not allowing on phones that lack support for its major bands such as BC10 voice band.
Do you think factory unlocked Note 10 will work on Sprint BYOD? I pre-ordered Note 10 but no sure if it will work w/ Sprint BYOD.

Thanks as always!

Certainly it will. All such current or recent factory-unlocked Samsung phones are supported by Sprint and this plan is just the same as other Sprint plans as to which phones are supported. Also Sprint has in fact confirmed that that model is/ will be supported.

You will need the correct Sprint sim as has already been mentioned by edog11 https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=129781675&postcount=41324

You can order the universal BYOD sim kit from Sprint for $2.99 including shipping from
https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ndent=true
It, of course, includes that sim.

Thanks. Have gone thru the menu, entered IMEI and got "this number is invalid". The phone used to be on Tello and I swapped it out a week ago. Should I contact Tello to remove from the database? Or maybe it has to be MEID, IMEI without last zero? Didn't want to give too many failed tries.

It is easiest to first get it cleared by the checker before trying to swap it on.

The checker is at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...:BYOD:Shop

I suppose Tello might not have released it although I think they would have for a swap. You can try it in the Ting checker to see.

There is also the issue of the MVNO flag but mostly that it is not a problem any more because the checkers are turning it off as needed now.

Is it a Boost or other prepaid phone though? If so, you will probably never get it on Sprint postpaid. I think that would give a different error though.

There might be a format issue alright.

Thanks! Worked right away after used checker. Saved so much of my time. I was so happy that spent some time googling how to give reps. Was able only to give thanks on the screen menu though. Not sure if it's the same. Will keep trying if I failedSmilie

Great to hear it worked!
The checkers are usually resetting the MVNO flag now which makes it a lot easier than it used to be. (Please do not worry about the reps).

I'm trying to port P2 number to kickstart and hang up on credit check step. It says that associate has to verify info, but nothing happens. Any ideas how to solve this?

If you are doing it online, try calling to do it instead.
877-633-1102 or if that does not work try 866-782-8777.

I am not sure what P2 is though or whether there is any connection to the Free plan implied. I assume not..

i need serious help. LOL... i called Sprint 2 weeks ago to schedule a closing of my account on the last day of my billing cycle with the intention of switching it to a kickstart plan, been with sprint 20 years...sadly where i live its the only decent service i can get. so im kinda stuck with them. in any event i waited about 10 days and called the recovery dept at the number in the email i got from them and after 40 minutes on hold, i asked the rep if i could switch to the kickstart plan. i was told i had not left sprint yet so there was nothing he could do and promptly transferred me to retentions.... where i waited for another 30 min. they of course didnt do anything.

so my service is set to get cut tomorrow on the 18th so i decided id call today and try once again. Called recovery, the response was a whole new experience. They answered right away, the guy was super great, thanked me for 20 years service and he most definitely would switch me over to kickstart... commenting on how much money id be saving cuz i had a 2 line plan with all the bells and whistles costing me $250 a month. i cant do it anymore. Got rid of the extra number, no more insurance, no more credit fees, and a simple $25 bill. One phone was on a month to month lease and could be returned with nothing due and the other well there was an issue. He said not to worry, hed fix it up some how. It's an Iphone 8 and just hit its 12th month in its lease and in fact just a few days ago got an alert that the lease was satisfied and i could upgrade under the forever plan. I didnt want to upgrade so i said, ill just pay off this phone and keep it.... whatever is due can you just amortize it over a few months. He said he couldnt do that, but he'd set me up on the kickstart tomorrow and then gave me a number to call tomorrow to work out the balance on the phone. fair enough... put me on hold, everything checked out.... it was great.

almost an hour later.... and exhausted from doing my happy dance.....after i cancelled my ride to take me to t-mobile tonight to do the ol port out and port back in trick just under the wire... The guy from sprint calls me at 4pm and tells me he cant offer me that program. in fact, he cant offer me ANYTHING for my 20 years of service. not one "recovery" offer.

i guess i didnt see much mention about people with a remaining lease.... i get its a BYOD plan, but i intended to pay off the balance and keep the device....but i guess they dont like that. so since i was so under the wire, i kept one line at $65 still got stuck with the credit fee plus i guess the $30 lease payment, so my dream $25 plan will run me about $110 a month after all the other fees and stuff. but what a crappy thing to do .... let me bask in glory that after 20 Years, i catch a break with Sprint, only to get the rug pulled out from under me, while i was dancing!. And worse, the guy just kept saying, "yeah, wish i could do something".... so basically there was no recovery they could of offered me. If i could get a better signal from anyone else, id leave them in a heartbeat right now...

any advise?

First, cancel the cancel if it is still pending.

You still have time to work on the problem in all likelihood from the dates that are involved.

I do not know about lease questions though and cannot help much with those. But if you can pay it off in the next couple of weeks can't you just port out then and then port back in to Kickstart?

thats the plan.... i did cancel the cancel and said keep me on the unlimited basic for another month and pay off the phone by the 18th of next month and ill own the phone. but i even asked him, if i have another compatible phone that i owned could i switch that and he acted like i couldnt do anything so long as there was a leased phone on the account. i thought about adding a new kickstart line, then porting out my main number, paying off the lease then porting my number back in..... but id hate to set that all in motion then get screwed again at the last second.

thats the plan.... i did cancel the cancel and said keep me on the unlimited basic for another month and pay off the phone by the 18th of next month and ill own the phone. but i even asked him, if i have another compatible phone that i owned could i switch that and he acted like i couldnt do anything so long as there was a leased phone on the account. i thought about adding a new kickstart line, then porting out my main number, paying off the lease then porting my number back in..... but id hate to set that all in motion then get screwed again at the last second.
Ok so you have already made all of the decisions. You have a viable plan which is the main thing.

After you have paid off the lease, you can port out and port in to KickStart. Do not expect to get the reps to confirm in advance that this will work as they will tell you that it will not because it is Sprint policy to discourage people from doing that.
