Thank you so much for the response I really appreciate it!!!

So to update:

I called retention(844-382-3317) and since our account only had 1 year history on it they refused to give any sort of extension to the free year and said the best they could do was give a $20 credit on the next month's $160 bill (lol). So I was like k thx bai!

Ported out to the mobile data only $10 plan from Tmo [t-mobile.com] with ebay $2 sims. Everything was simple except they wouldn't accept the same credit card nor could I (or didn't really want to) add all 5 on the same account so I made 5 different emails and used 5 different credit cards to pay the $10 /line (lol) But yeah sucks that it's not free anymore since the pay as you tmobile from last year is now defunct. But still super fast porting, the numbers ported out 5-20 mins from that point.

I then called recovery(877-858-3779) to try to get some activation credit but they said all my account was eligible for was the unlimited basic with free hulu 5 lines for 100 and no credits but they waived all activation per line. And then they said I might get prorated charge? Because my old sprint billing cycle ended on the 9th of this month (today is 1st) So they said from 1-9 would be prorated and then the 100 would kick in from then onward. I'm like uh no?? I already paid and am good until the 9th so use that service haha. But the agent sounded unsure so I told her to put in the notes to not double charge for that. So I guess we will find out if I get hit for those prorated fees -.-

But yeah so this is good until 9/30/20 next year and I guess we'll see where to hop from there lol. I was considering kickstart but free hulu and same price for extra line? I suppose I'll take it.

Any chance if I contact chat they might be able to get me the recovery reward credits? What should I ask? The whole recovery credits seemed confusing, them waiving activation is that the recovery credit? or they give it towards the bill?
5 lines for $100 is a special offer of its own so you cannot combine it with the $250 per line credit as I think I mentioned.

I think I suggested the regular plan might be better, even though it would have cost more, because then you would have been eligible for the $250 per line credit and you could keep the plan permanently, not just a year. But one could argue it either way. I do not know why you would not have been eligible for that. It is listed right on the page at https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...print.html.

I do not think you will be charged any prorated amount.

Chat is not good for much on special offers.

Where does the info about Kickstart ending come from? If it does end, can people who already have a Kickstart line add more, or not?
There was a countdown clock to Oct 3 end of offer for $25 Kickstart on the main Sprint page.

However, they have just today removed the countdown clock and expiry date from that Kickstart ad.

It is still possible that the price may go up on Oct 3 by $10 a month - we will see.

No,you have not been able to add additional Kickstart lines in past instances where the Kickstart plan was suspended.

Yeah chat initially said they would give me 250 per line but then they said I had to call the recovery line to have them do it lol. So when I called them they said with the kickstart plan and the unlimited basic they can't do any reactivation credit because those plans are already discounted :/ They said it would only apply to the regular rate plans. Oh well I guess. Thank you so much! At least I'm set for another year with probably the best price all around for unlimited everything at under 25 per line per month!

People have done it.
It should be fine as long as you are still the account holder.

comintel you are a pro! do you have discord by any chance? Smilie

Also just wondering do you know of any super cheap sprint capable phone I can get ? My friend lost her phone and she just needs something right now that she is able to call and text with. It can even be a flip phone. But I was having a hard time finding something under 50 dollars, and also that would definitely work under sprint.

I do have Discord but just for Ting.

Let me deflect the phone question to others who are keeping up better on that. Also of course Black Friday is coming up.

I was just able to port out of one Sprint BYOD plan to TING and back to another Sprint BYOD plan without any problems and no activation charges. I used the TING GSM mobile starter kit from Target. The port happend within minutes. Just a heads up if you go that route, I did 2 lines on 1 account, both had the same account # but different PIN #s for each line. When I called Sprint to port in, the rep mentioned on this plan there is no activation fees. Thanks for everyone's help and advice to keep a good thing going.

For person who need hotspot on 1yearfree plan, you can use it with APN modify on unlocked Galaxy phone. I was able to use it on my Note 10+ from Microsoft store deal. I think the same should apply to kickstart and unlimited basic plan.

Since it's hard to track this topic, my BYOD deal ends in Nov. and actually Sprint coverage is decent in VA. Any idea how easy to get into kickstarter deal? I chatted with Sprint through their app and told me to wait till my current deal ends

As you found out, there is no way to upgrade to Kickstart permitted by Sprint that they will discuss prior to porting out.

However, you can port out to TMobile prepaid and then you will be eligible for KickStart by porting back in.

Sprint will NOT confirm this to you in advance, only after you have ported out.

Please see recent posts for MANY examples.

Also KickStart may go up by $10 starting October 4 or may be suspended or extended. We cannot be sure as Sprint will not say until then..

More specifically, you add ,DUN to the the end of the lte APN. Or add a new APN like that. People should see XDA for details as it can be tricky in some cases.
