You buy h2o sim card from bestbuy in store, $1. On h2owirelessnow.com, you can port out to h2o, you are gonna need your account # and pin. It took about half hour to port to h2o. I didn't even buy a plan in h2o, just called customer service and asked my accout number and pin. She gave me after a confirmation which was the port in date.
I checked it ask for selected plan, did you choose one?

In the store, there were a few that were priced 1 dollar. Net10 was the other one. I think one more was also for a dollar. It is just sim card. For h2o you buy only sim card and add your plan online. So I just didnt add plan and just called CS.

edit: I was gonna select $10 pay as you go plan if it was needed.

i think u were lucky to be able to port out from so quick.
usually they will make it difficult to port out.

rules are/were u had to wait 3 days and make at least 3 calls etc.

in past i dont think they were enforcing them.
they are now as they see the numerous port in and outs firm the various deals over last 3 years
Porting out to h2o is very straight forward online if you have all the info. Porting back to sprint took 2 calls.

after put in h2o sim card # it asked to select plan, which I did with the $10 plan, then the transfer went through.

I think I chose that plan after putting the sim # too. But didn't finish adding that plan. Once you submit, it starts the process for porting, and you wait. Once the porting is done you will receive porting message to your h2o account. That is the time you can call cs for account info.

what i am suggesting is that when u port in for a promotion..it is best practice to port in from a carrier that is not associated with the port in carrier
I'm sorry to annoy you. I just hadn't realized this before, so I'm trying to understand all the specifics. I thought there was a hard and fast rule.

So you're saying that porting from a Sprint MVNO might invalidate some or all promos, but we don't know for sure which ones, so it's safest to make sure your last plan before porting to Sprint is not a Sprint MVNO. Right?

But it shouldn't matter if it was another CDMA MVNO, right, like Verizon?

Does anyone know whether it matters for SWAC? There shouldn't be any reason you couldn't port into SWAC from a Sprint MVNO, is there?

And why does everyone say that GSM is required instead of just a non-Sprint mvno, like one through Verizon?

Thank you for your patience. I was kinda hoping someone else would chime in, too, so I don't feel like I'm only bothering you! Smilie

You can but it can be slow (i.e. take a couple of days).

Since October 17th is currently listed as the last day of $25 Unlimited KickStart, you might want to take that into account if trying for that.

Corporate sprint store or Apple store can you give it to you for free, ymmv.

Btw, Not sure why that particular advice for getting sims was removed from the wikipost? It always worked for me easily.

No stores of either kind in my area. Frown

Does anyone know any other ideas? I see people taking about h20 Sims for $1, but those are GSM, right?
