My free plan ends on 11/30 -- my last billing cycle ended yesterday 10/27-11/26 (still waiting for bill to generate)

Sounds like my free plan should be good until end of my 11/27-12/26 cycle since Sprint doesn't prorate plans but I'll probably port out by 11/30
I'm a little confused on this, if your free plan is over on 11/30 then would you not have to port out by 11/30. If you did it on lets say 12/3 then would they not hit you with full charges for the entire month of December?

Probably not, but people here cannot give guarantees that would have cost consequences as to exactly what Sprint may do because nothing is written in stone (or in fact written down at all) and Sprint could vary its policies slightly or applies discretion the wrong way in a particular case.

I ported out my free plan line to GV on 11/20 which was 4 days before my billing cycle ended.

For some reason, it completed on 11/25. One day into the new cycle. I pay about $6.50 in taxes and surcharges. Am I going to be on the hook for that?

Do you think they could credit that? I did have that $5 credit from Sprint Rewards that still hasn't come and now the account is closed.

my free promotion ends on 11/30 too, according to the statement. What are the alternatives? I saw people talked about Visible, but my Samsung S7 is not compatible. Mint Mobile has $15/month for one year, seems a good alternative. Any other options? Thanks!

What is the end of your plan free period, 10/31 or 11/30?

If it was 11/30, I highly doubt you will be charged anything.

11/30. I know they won't charge for any service, but I remember they charged me the full taxes and surcharges for both the partial month when I signed up as well as the first month.

For example, if I signed up 10/20 and my cycle started 10/25, they charged all the taxes and surcharges for 10/20-10/24 and then again for 10/25-11/24.

Anyway, thank you for your input.

Just

(1) port out to TMobile Prepaid or another non-Sprint carrier

And then, after you have ported out,
EITHER:

(2a) After a couple of days call the number shown at https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...print.html and they will get you back onto KickStart at $35 a month (ignore their other worthless come-back offers). This way they might give you a small credit and waive the activation fee.

OR

(2b) Just sign up for Kickstart as per https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/pl...start.html but call in rather than do it online preferably.

Note you must port out first in all cases. You cannot convert in place (well there is one way to convert in place but there is not enough time for that in your case)

Method 2a may save you the activation fee and sometimes they give a small credit (changes from time to time).

thanks. I called red pocket, hoping I can activate with my existing spring sim cards today, but was told that the activation takes one business day, so even if I do it now I won't receive the activation code until next Monday. Sprint will likely charge me for the whole month at $60. wish I checked earlier.

Has anyone tried Mint Mobile? How long does the activation take, a few hours or a few days? Thanks!

They probably will not charge and if they do they will probably give it back if you ask.

Thanks! I chatted online with Sprint and the agent said Sprint will prorate the last month. She made a note in my account to make sure the prorate will happen.

Good to hear!
I predict the amount will be zero actually but you now have extra assurance which is always good.
