If you are feeling adventurous, Visible Mobile. I'm trialing 1 line and so far so good for me unlike what others have encountered. Unlimited talk, text and data with 50 gb Hotspot on Verizon's network for $25 /mo if you get to a party of 4.

I have until Dec to cancel and I'm disappointed Sprint can't offer anything better then what their fine print says after this deal is over.

And just to note that anyone can get to a party of 4 via https://www.reddit.com/r/VisiblePartyPay/

You deal only with Visible directly apart from the initial match, not at all with the other members of your "party" - you do not have to share any information with them. People are posting that they completed a party within hours of posting (or just joined as per an existing post).

Of course you may prefer to organize your own party if you can but I am just noting that those who do not have 4 people can still get in at the low price.

Yeah joining a party was pretty easy. And each pays for their own line.

I looked into this recently. There are some caveats:

1. This will only work on the "4G" network coverage. So, I suspect there will be a lot more "black spots" and disconnected calls is certain scenarios.

NOT SURE, if this "4G" limitation is for BOTH data and voice/text. Someone could help verify.... I figure, one could live with no data, but no voice/text if no 4G signal, especially in emergency is bad.

2. IIRC, there is NO roaming either. This is a very big problem.

I think, if the phone device works on a very fast speed, say at your home location, and you're home mostly doing "hot spot" most of the time, the Visible plan with Party discount works well...

When I login to my acct, I see my end date as 1/31/2020.
This is the absolute end date that I should go with correct?

Also, if Sprint Retentions offer me some special plan to stay on, should I accept it?
I don't know if they are currently offering anything to BYOD customers who are near the end of their promo....

Do you know?

Thanks!

That's true that it is LTE only (including VoLTE), no CDMA voice or data. However Verizon is phasing out CDMA anyway. And you are not likely to need roaming on Verizon.

I think the bigger issue (that people are actually running into in some areas) is likely to be that it is deprioritized behind other Verizon users. So those who live in areas where there is congestion will get slow speeds. Quite a few people on Visible have run into that. Many other people in less-congested areas have not.

Also they have a very limited number of phones that they will accept.
Also ping times are worse because Visible has special routing (limited points of presence).

But I would say the majority of users are delighted with the service if you look at forum posts. (One can find faults with anything).

It is not the absolute latest date but getting close to that - you probably have until the end of your billing period ending after that date, but Sprint gives varying answers on that so most go with the end-of-month date that you quoted for certainty.

Sprint Retentions has not given any decent offers in a long time but you can always try if you want. It is highly unlikely that they will offer you anything decent though.

At this point, I can say that Visible is good for people who know how to troubleshoot when their phone service fails. So far I am beating the odds. The only trouble I faced was during activation where it took a couple of hours for them to activate my line. They have rewarded me pretty nicely by giving me a brand new Pixel 3a XL for free as a replacement for customer's supposedly messed up Pixel 1 and Pixel 2 phones when Google pushed out the Dec 5 security patch. So now that brand new phone is still in its box relaxing beautifully on my desk while I continue to use my now supposedly unsupported Pixel. They have stepped up quite a bit and I think added more customer support. Wait time today online on chat was less than 5 minutes where before it was 30 minutes and up. By April where my "real" Sprint free plan will expire, and their services will be more mature, I am strongly considering using them. Only downside is I enjoy Sprint's free international unlimited text and slow data when I am out of the country. (in Canada free data was not slow at all.) Currently using a Pixel 3a and an Essential. When abroad toggle the preferred network type to global instead of LTE to get signal.

What happens when someone cancels their service and the number of the members drops below 4?

See their FAQ's here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Visible/...party_pay/

of which the bottom line is that you just list it here to get a fourth member:
https://www.reddit.com/r/VisiblePartyPay/
which will typically be accomplished within a few hours.

Perhaps we should not go too far into Visible (or Tello etc) here. Suffice it to say that Visible is one alternative among others that people can look into for those whose Sprint free plan is ending..

That forth member needs to be a new user, or an account can go from one party to another?

That reddit forum would be the best place to ask but I think you will find that there are no restrictions.
