Quote from comintel :
Thanks - I think there may be an issue of Best Buy having taken out Sprint as a listed eligible carrier for that particular phone offer on the web site. However according to one post you can still use Sprint anyway.
Quote from comintel :
Please see Desi's post on this also. If you still have problems, you may have to buy some other lower-cost phone. Or buy a phone and plan and cancel it later etc. Also, as a long shot, maybe the rep will let you do it with BYOD. One BestBuy employee posted on reddit that he was allowing BYOD's in his store for that offer but that has not been confirmed elsewhere.

I think the best approach may be to go a BestBuy store and see what is the best deal you can work out.
Quote from desi_babu_2010 :
i just tried..and it appears to be still free...
WOW.............Great suggestions and correct timings. Thanks Comintel and Desi. worshipworshipworship

I was little hesitant to go away from Sprint since Sprint service is good in my area and didn't want to move MVNO. Placed the order for moto e6 with new connection for Sprint for KS$25 and ready for pick up at BB.
In initial page, Sprint is not listed. If you select any carrier and add to cart, it is showing Sprint. It requires credit check on SSN. After check, it allowed to complete the order.

Thanks once again.

Will you get a hard pull on your credit if you sign up kickstart thru BestBuy? If yes, then I rather stick to comintel's method, call the recovery dept and have them set up the kickstart plan instead of port out then port in.

Unfortunately you have to go through Best Buy to get the $25 rate, and people are reporting that Best Buy is indeed insisting on credit approval by Sprint. Now, maybe when Best Buy calls Sprint to get credit approval, Sprint might skip the hard pull if you already had a Sprnt account - I do not know. Kickstart has never required a new account, just a new line.

Sprint normally allows you to have a no-credit-check account on request, but if you go directly to Sprint, you have to pay the $35 a month rate.

Plus you can get a free phone included at BestBuy.
Thanks for the input. If I remember correctly, the kickstart discount only last until 1/31/2021, which means the total difference between $35/$25 plan is around $100. For 100 bucks I probably wound't risk a hard pull.

That 1/31/2021 end date does indeed apply to some Sprint offers, but not to Kickstart.

Kickstart is a regular plan and the price never goes up on regular plans.

Here are the full complete T&C from
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp-...6893842336

Maybe there is some way that you could check whether they will do a hard pull if you already have an approved account. I do not see why they would need to check again. You could try calling the Sprint Credit dept at 800-639-6111. Maybe they would know. Or maybe BestBuy could tell you in-store if you got the right rep.

There is a specific thread on the offer here on SlickDeals too.

Mine ends March 30. I'm finding it very difficult to decide what my next step is going to be. Everything looks expensive compared to free, lol.

edog, question: What does this mean? I have seen the writing on the wall, and have ported away my first line (of two) from Sprint this morning (to use my 3 months free Superbowl special offer from Mint Mobile before it expires). Still have the second (of two) lines active on Sprint, planning to port that one out tonight. I got the same email. Does that mean that they will let us have a "free" ($5 autopay) line for another year *as long as we pay full price* for our still active/promotion ended/now full price lines? If so, not interested ($60+/month) but if we can set up this "3rd free line" and then cancel the other lines, I am interested Wave. The answer is probably, "Who knows? Try it!" but I am wondering if comintel or others can weigh in... I've gotten almost 3 years out of this BYOD 1 Year Free deal... another year would be crazy LMAO

Mine says the same thing but then you look at the dates on the bill so what does it mean with your May bill? Would that be for April like the March bill as shown is for Feb-3-Mar 2. I have to assume that if we port out prior to 4/30/2020 then they can only charge us accordingly to Promo pricing.
Thanks for your recent payment $8.74
Billing period Feb 3 - Mar 2, 2020
Account number XXXXX
Total due by March 26 $8.74

Another question--do we need to port out or can we just cancel the account if we don't want to keep the phone number. I will definitely port out 1 phone number but it's not the main account #--Probably easier to port out but would have to pay to port out vs cancelling the account.

Do you have ONLY 3 free lines in your account?

If so, it seems as if Sprint will implement the current $100 for 2 lines and lines 3-5 are FREE plan as an enticement to keep all those with more than 2 free lines:

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/pl...mitedPlans

Did anyone with more than 3 free lines, say 5 free lines, get a similar email stating that lines 3-5 are free until 4/30/2021?

I have 4 lines. I take it to mean only line 3 would be free. Not a deal by any means save only $20 plus assume still couldn't use account for phone deals at 3rd party stores.

You're right, that's a pretty bad offer.
Sprint/T-Mo will be stupid to let all those with multiple free lines like you to move elsewhere when so many other options are available.
They already have a captive multi-line customer base that they should try to keep by offering a competitive plan, say $15-$20/line not just for a year only.

Latest bill is March bill. So latest to port/ cancel is May 2nd. It's recommended to port several days before end in case of porting issues.

Thanks that's what I was assuming but--with Sprint you never know.

Hope someone comes up with a MM for porting or at least something to make it worthwhile Smilie.
