Great question. But see the problem is for us to answer that question we need a bit more details. Like for example of no one has any clue to what iPhone you have. You've got to provide more details if you need help from folks here
Sorry, thought pretty much all iPhones have some procedure.

Yes it is very much easier to unlock while still a Sprint customer and iphone(6 and newer) locked to sprint will not work on T-Mobile until it is unlocked either officially or thru 3rd party solutions. This assumes phone is eligible for unlock(paid off and 50 days of service)
Thank you. Helps a lot.

I think international support line(888-226-7212) or international chat has been recommended for unlocking

My almost free Sprint ends on 3/31, my current bill is from 2/22 to 3/21.

IIRC this actually means that my next bill from 3/22 to 4/21 bill will actually be almost free also. Can someone confirm?

I think a couple people pointed this out earlier but it wasn't widely spread info. Thanks

That's what people have posted was their experience and makes sense. However, many Sprint reps, if asked, have tended to go more by the actual wording of the promotion and say you need to get off by month end.

You can call Account Services at 844-382-3317 and see what they say before deciding. Actually you should because there is a selective retention offer to extend the free plan by at least several months! Many accounts are being offered it. You just have to call in to see if yours is included. You have to talk to them to get retention offers. You do not get them automatically.

Hope this message finds everyone safe and sound. My free plan will end by end of next month. Looks like there's no way to port out and back to Sprint for the KS plan or unlimited plan while keeping the same phone number? I am thinking to port to Hello mobile for their $17.5 unlimited everything ( 4 lines) I heard a lot of different reviews regarding Hello though. If there's any other better options for our 4 lines , will greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

(1) Sure you can. Just port out and you can use the recovery offer
Come Back to Sprint" to come back to Kickstart with the same number. Or, better yet, you can port your number out to Google Voice and leave it there for a few months pointed back to a different ported-in number on Sprint to qualify for the $300 offer. Or you can use the Best Buy $25 a month KickStart offer with the GV approach especially if you plan on staying more than a year..

(2) You can call Account Services at 844-382-3317 and see if you are eligible for a retention offer to extend your free plan. Many people are.

Thanks so much as always.
1)So I can port out and back in to Sprint with the same phone number to take advantage of the $300 gc promo by with KS or unlimited plan? If that's the case , I am so thrilled. Do I have to port back after some days, or can port back right away? I used Tmobile in the past and heard that now it's more expensive to do so.I don't care much about changing phone numbers , but the other users on the 3 lines prefer to keep the old numbers.

2) I will call Sprint retention to ask for possible extension of the free plan when my expiration date approaching , hopefully I could get some more months. Thanks once again for your clarification.

It is either/or.
Either A or B.

(A)
You can come back with the same number but without the $300 by just porting out to a non-Sprint number and calling Recovery (not Retentions)

or

(B)
If you want the $300 as well, it is more complicated. You can
(1) Port in a brand new "number for port" from Ebay or elsewhere to Kickstart. This will qualify you for the offer.
(2) Port out your original number to Google Voice ($20) and leave it there for the 3 months, forwarding calls to the number you ported in to Sprint so that you still get all your calls.

Also in case (B) you can choose whether or not to use BestBuy to get the $25 a month rate for Kickstart, at some risk of not getting the $300...

Before you go through hassle of calling Sprint to determine lock status, pop SIM of another carrier into your phone and see if it is accepted. If that works, your phone is already unlocked and no need to waste any precious time with Sprint.

So even if you port out and port in with a different person, you probably wouldn't get the $300.

A different SSN is certainty a good idea to do if you can and may be enough on its own.

However, you would not know for sure for several months.

Let's say they are deluged by "questionable" claims and they audit whole bunches of claims..

There is nothing to stop them looking for people who moved a phone number under someone else's name and ssn. They could look at dates and IMEI's too.

How often does someone give their phone number to another person for "legitimate" reasons? Not very often.

Their definition of a "new line" uses a 45 day period to define "new".

I would do both things if you can - new number and new SSN.

Exact Sprint terms are: "previously activated phone numbers may not be eligible for this offer."

Interpret that as you like but clearly the foolproof option is to go with phone numbers that have never been activated on Sprint.
