I just did a chat and my 3/31 exp was extended to 5/31. Pretty sweet and I notice I have 20GB hotspot now. Spectrum internet has been total crap the last few weeks and Sprint has better speeds for me right now

Chat didn't work for me.

My plan expires today. I want to stay only if it gets extended. I don't mind cancelling my line. I want it to to be immediate. Any leads?

You can call Retentions at 844-382-3317. That is a direct line so will be faster.

But you should have through the end of your bill period free anyway.

I also chatted and was given a 6/30/20 date. How can I verify this?

in addition to the above, i would log out.
login try another chat.
If still now allowed, ask for supervisor.

there is no reason why they are not allowing you the same 2 months that many others have now received.

i certainly would not, in any circumstances, cancel the line today or anytime in near future.
once gone, there is good chance it will not be back.

Yes, I did this thru the CHAT. I believe this is a new directive because of the COVID19. I had the same conversation with the Chat CS as well as the Phone CS earlier in the month and both told me that I will have to move to a more expensive different plan. One CS even try to sell the Pixel 3 for 300, but I refused. I will try again and see if they will let me buy the Pixel 3.
You can buy it outright online through there store. The offer is there for $300. You will be okay to purchase there I would say.

They have made some individual retention offers occasionally to "extend" the free plan for a year "free" in exchange for buying a phone over time.

Basically you pay for the phone over time at x dollars a month and they apply an x dollar credit to a regular priced plan to bring it down to zero.

But I agree one would need to review any such offers very very carefully as they often end up being traps of one kind or another (example: one may be locked into the high-priced paid plan after the credits run out in one year)..

I called in today and apparently there is conflicting information depending on the rep you talk to. I was told a year, may have to upgrade through telesales, then got pushed through to tele, then back to retention and the best they would do is 2 additional months of free year plan. NOT a whole additional year and the one rep even laughed about it outright.

I tried to go through to buy the Pixel 3 XL just as a test and apparently they DO want you to buy a plan. It is eligible on the kickstart $35 month plan however fyi.

Yes and that's why we were cautious earlier about an isolated report of one year. That caution turned out to be justified.

Individual reps get things wrong not infrequently.
