Just thinking out loud here... maybe I am missing something obvious...

Why would I take 2 months of free service for 5 lines costing me $5 each ($100/month plan x 2 savings),

When I could port out and port in 5 new numbers (or possibly the same numbers) and collect $1500GC + $400CB + $50Ref... (19 months free service)

The difference is huge in savings and I am pretty sure the $300GC offer wont be around in 2 months.
Problem is that your # in free plan has to be away from sprint for 45 days before you can qualify for 300 rebate. there is not enought time. if I were you, I'd get number from ebay and open 5 lines for 100, when you receive the 1500 rebates, free plan is also about to end, you can keep the rebate lines by port out and port in to replace the line with your real number freed from free plan. sprint has good coverage in Chicago land, $20 per line is about as good as any other Carriers

Not definitely known, but maybe. So do a temp situation to get the big deal now...
Get 5 new numbers for the port-in and do the $300 deal now... send your permanent numbers somewhere like ting or tello for a month or two, then port them back over to Sprint to replace your other numbers as soon as your GC arrive.

You can port the permanent numbers to Google Voice for $20 each one time charge and forward them so that they ring your phones just like before. Better in fact because this is the best configuration anyway to get voicemail transcripts and all GV features.

This sounds like a good idea to solve my problem, as we could keep our current number on the free plan which is must for some of our lines. I know it is easy to swap devices on Sprint, how do we swap phone numbers ? Thanks.
I just realized that I also need phones for this $300 promo, looks like I don't have time to have the phones available before the promo deadline?

I asked the same question and comintel said that it would be reflected online in few days.

Did anyone also get a $30 credit? I don't know exactly what I said or did but that was offered by the CS agent. It was applied today.
I can see that the plan end date now shows 6/30/20. Have a 4-line BYOD plan.

Edit: I chatted with CSR earlier today regarding the plan options beyond 4/30, but did not ask for any extension. Looks like it was automatically added to the account. Glad I checked this thread and looked at my account details.

Edit 2: Also, the PDF bill for the cycle ending 3/20/2020 had this info:

Unlimited Plan Promo Pricing Ending 4/30/20. Your Unlimited plan promo pricing ends 4/30/20. Starting w/ your May bill, line 1 will be $60/mo., line 2 $40/mo. & lines 4-5 $20/mo. each. To show our appreciation, your 3rd line free promo will be extended thru 4/30/21 while on your current plan! Prices include $5/line AutoPay discount.

I think the agent was just being nice. They give those out like candy if you report having a problem. Maybe they were thinking you might be affected by the current Covid situation.

You cannot do it directly but you used to be able to port out or cancel it, then call Recovery to come back to Sprint kickstart.

However I do not see the "Come back to Sprint" page any more, at least at the moment.

In any case you would not normally want to do it now because you would not get the $300 that way.

If you want to keep the number you can do that with GoogleVoice.

You do not have to buy a phone at all to be eligible for the Sprint promo from Sprint.

However when you buy the preowned phone from Sprint, if that requires activation on a certain type of plan, that could be an issue. As long as it allows activation with Kickstart, I think you would be ok as long as you port in a non-Sprint (preferably AT&T now) number.
