Till this day many that I tried to convince still do not believe it was possible to receive this Sprint deal.

Truly remarkable that this existed for 3 years and this thread still is alive.

question for the experts here.
i am interested in purchasing a phone with this imei

359583091211815

i checked ting, tello, and sprint byod esn checkers.

Ting:
Balance owed
The account this phone is associated with has an unpaid balance with another carrier. You'll need to get in touch with them to sort it out.

tello:
This device can't be activated on Tello right now due to an unresolved account issue with your previous provider. Please contact them to solve it.

but Sprint allowed me to proceed.

im confused as to why Sprint didnt give error.

any insights would be helpful ?

" Sprint network status: The device is still under financial responsibility and/or contract "

Even though money is owed on Sprint they will generally let you use it on their network but will never unlock it

Looks like it has not been activated on Sprint yet. Check with them to make sure it can be activated. I had an iPhone that Sprint activated for me, everything looked good, but it would not work. Turns out it was locked to Metro.

Be careful, sometimes its like rolling dice in Vegas no matter how much you try and verify.

Hope this helps

This is probably a Sprint model phone, LM-V405UA.

From Swappa:
IMEI: 359583091211815
Phone: V40 ThinQ

Device is on the global IMEI whitelist.
The device has been registered and is an authentic IMEI number.

Device is not on the global IMEI blacklist.
The device is not currently flagged as lost/stolen.

From T-Mobile:
LM-V405UA
IMEI: 359583091211815
Your phone doesn't support Extended Range LTE or Voice over LTE technology. Tell Me More.
We are not able to tell if this phone is unlocked. Contact the original carrier to find out if your phone's locked or visit a T-Mobile store to discover its status. We can't unlock phones from other networks.

From the above it looks like this phone doesn't support VoLTE with T-Mo.
That's not good news.
The V405UA is supposedly compatible with Sprint, AT&T, Verizon only.

The problem with Sprint is that it supports VoLTE only in select phones.
Sprint and its device vendors are currently upgrading select devices to VoLTE.
Going forward, VoLTE will be included on nearly all new device launches.
So, older devices like the V405A are SOL.

https://community.sprint.com/t5/L...-p/1052167

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/se...volte.html

As it can be seen in the above only about a dozen or so devices support VoLTE on Sprint, and no Motorola devices are there.

Verizon only accepts VoLTE devices as of 1/1/2020.
Older non-VoLTE devices currently on Verizon will work until 12/31/2020. After that one must get a VoLTE capable device.
For instance, this IMEI can not be activated on Verizon.

Before a device is purchased it's best to check if it supports VoLTE with your cell provider or with other providers that you may plan to use it in the future.

As an example, the Visible Motorola E6 that many purchased is VoLTE capable with T-Mo:

Good news!
You should have a great experience using your own phone with T-Mobile—it has features that typically perform well on our network.
Surf
IMEI: 352XXXXXXXXXXXX
It's well equipped to take advantage of our network technology, like Extended Range LTE and VoLTE. Tell Me More
We are not able to tell if this phone is unlocked. Contact the original carrier to find out if your phone's locked or visit a T-Mobile store to discover its status. We can't unlock phones from other networks.
Next Step
Once your phone is unlocked, get a T-Mobile SIM Starter Kit and choose a plan
Buy SIM Shop plans.

And since the E6 came from Verizon/Visible it is VoLTE capable there too:

Nice, your MOTO E6 SURF BLK VS will work on our network.

That's an optimal situation:
To have a device that'll be VoLTE capable in as many cell providers as possible, so that one has the flexibility to go from one to another with the same phone device as deals come up.
Of course, besides the VoLTE capability, the phone MUST support ALL, or most, the bands used by the various cell providers.
A phone, for instance, may be VoLTE capable and it supports the Verizon and T-Mo bands BUT has no support for AT&T bands, and so it'll not work there.

i have the visible moto e6 and i am currently using that on sprint [as daily driver] as i wait for a nice deal for a lg v40.

the e6 is nice and all , can be used on most carrier, etc...
but i dont think it is a capable "daily driver" for most moderate users age 12 and above
...{like me}
