Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

My Free BYOD plan ends 06/30. Can I ask Sprint to cancel my number when I am near the end date or is it mandatory to port it out? TIA

Verizon now says $150 per line
As of right now it still shows $300:

Perhaps you're looking at the wrong offer???

BUT, as I stated earlier above:
ALL these offers CAN CHANGE in a moment's notice or with NO notice at all.

Sprint does not prorate so it will be zero till the end of your billing period ending next after 6/30 (in this case).

That's the experience to date.

So if you port out on 6/30 you pay zero for sure. Probably you can even stay a bit longer through that entire billing period into part of July but most take no chances and port out by 6/30 since some reps say to do that to be safe..
Is this confirmed? My next billing cycle starts on the 21st, does this mean the rest of the month is free?

Same question. My cycle starts on the 28th, would be nice to have the free plan for almost another month.

See if clearing cache helps. Or try another browser. Verizon site changes the amount from $300 to $150 for those who visited that site/offer before.

This has been answered here:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=137536091&postcount=43518

You are charged about a week before the billing cycle starts and you are paid until its end.
So, say the 21st, 6/21-7/20, you''ll get a bill around 7/12 or so for the next period 7/21-8/20 and that bill will be at the regular rate of $60/$40/$20/$20/$20.
Better to port out a week before the 7/12 billing date since sometimes porting problems will delay the port out and the end of the Sprint account.

The bill you'll get around 6/14 or around 6/21 for the other person, will be your LAST free bill.

Can I port out to GV and port back into Sprint to take advantage of new customer deals (new ssn)? I don't want to do mess with call forwarding or anything like that as the phones will be used by my elderly in-laws. I can't seem to find a straight answer when I google.

I tried to sign up, but it still shows $250 in cart.

EDIT: just chatted with rep. he stated that
"Michael:
after checking into it you would only get the 250 for porting over and bringing your device , in order to get the 300 it would have to be on a plan that is , do more , play more , get more unlimited etc
Michael:
start unlimited is only 250"

so looks like you've have to pick the higher plan for the $300 back. Could be worth it if you plan on canceling in 8-9 months anyway

EDIT 2: messaged them again, and rep told me that if you do the $250 promo, there is a $20 activation fee (discounted from $40)/line.

Exactly what I posted has been confirmed to have been the practice up to now by many posters. Edog11 first posted this months if not years ago and others including me are just re-summarizing that correct and very carefully verified practice.

So it is thoroughly confirmed as practice to date. However, if you mean, has it been confirmed explicitly by Sprint ahead of time for *future* dates yet to come (such as yours), the answer is there is no way to get Sprint to confirm anything reliably as to their future billing. You may get varying answers. Nevertheless you can call Retentions if you want confirmation by Sprint.

If you want to go by the most conservative advice, port out by the end-of-month date listed for your account. Some people are advising that as it is always possible Sprint could change practice to a more literal interpretation of free plan (and extension) end date.

In practice, so far, with a new SSN, yes you can.

In theory though, no, if the offer says a "new line" is required, because theoretically it is not a new line if the number was used on Sprint in the past 45 days.

However they have not been seen to enforce the "new line" rule in such cases. Some Sprint reps have posted on reddit that they have done so on occasion (probably only where they are really out to get the person). It seems highly unlikely they would do so.

I personally use Google Voice. But you will very likely be ok your way too.

What you are stating seems correct.
Verizon practically changed its web page overnight and they didn't do a good job to provide clarity.

Others who plan on going with this Verizon deal should read your post to know what they 'll encounter.

This deal was much more clear and straightforward last month to 5/31 and there was no activation fee for the $250 code.

As I said above:
"Of course, ALL these offers CAN CHANGE in a moment's notice or with NO notice at all."

I have used a few recycled Verizon numbers many times with no problem. They only check the last carrier that the number is attached to before you port it to Verizon, so if you have a number that had been on Verizon before and you ported it to other carrier and then port it now to Verizon, it is fine. I have been playing this porting game for "free" services for many years now Stick Out Tongue
