This sounds right. Getting the text meant nothing for me, other than there was a big TMobile / Sprint outage here yesterday. Couldn't make or receive calls. Today, that problem is gone, but still low signal. Apparently I'm still using Sprint towers.

But if I force the phone into 3G mode, I get full bars. I'll take this, because I'm not really a fan of my Airave. Maybe I can return it now...
Have you checked what band you are on to be sure you are still on Sprint? Supposedly only the TMobile network was affected by the outage yesterday:
https://www.geekwire.com/2020/t-m...xcellence/

Of course, maybe you have no Sprint towers at all in range.

On Android the SignalCheck app will tell the band.

On iPhone dial *3001#12345##* including the stars, press LTE and check service (people say - I do not have an iPhone).

A lot of people who have been switched to TMobile find it worse at least for now. I guess a lot of others find it better probably. It is worse here for me.

Also new TMobile is shutting down some Sprint towers either because they are "redundant" or for conversion to TMobile 5G and LTE.

Did they say extend all the lines in your account, or just 1 line?
Because it seems to me there's no reason for them to extend the free promo, especially for nearly another year.

That's why I said if it happens, im not entirely confident it'll happen. As of right now status still shows expires 6/30/2020. I screenshotted the live chat, not sure if that'll help me negotiate in case they renege

Either the chat rep was confused or you misunderstood maybe.

This is a STANDARD OFFER to stay with Sprint BUT it's FREE for ONLY one line, the third line ONLY stays free until April 30, 2021.
So, for 3 lines the monthly charge will be $60+$40+$0. For every line after the 3rd line it'll be $20/line.

Actually, for people with 3 lines (or more) this may still be a relatively good deal since it comes to $33/line+tax+fees (or $28/line for 5 lines) until 4/30/2021 for unlimited service.
It's cheaper than the Sprint $35 Kickstart service, the Best Buy Sprint Kickstart service is $25/mo/line and you can get a free Moto E6, BUT that deal may not last much longer.
For those with 4 or 5 lines or more the Verizon deal of almost free for 8-9 months is better. Search the thread here and on SD for that and do your homework.

There is NO extension, and there will be NO extension for the free byod program, past 6/30/2020.
Sorry for the bad news!!!

What is the exact steps to be followed for porting out to H2O without a plan? I just ordered a SIM from Target, do I then create an online account to start the porting process (once i receive the SIM)?

People here have posted extensively about H2O porting in the past week or two.
It's very easy to do from what I recall.
Search this thread for H2O above.

This has been answered here:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=137536091&postcount=43518

You are charged about a week before the billing cycle starts and you are paid until its end.
So, say the 21st, 6/21-7/20, you''ll get a bill around 7/12 or so for the next period 7/21-8/20 and that bill will be at the regular rate of $60/$40/$20/$20/$20.
Better to port out a week before the 7/12 billing date since sometimes porting problems will delay the port out and the end of the Sprint account.

The bill you'll get around 6/14 or around 6/21 for the other person, will be your LAST free bill.
Quote from comintel :
Exactly what I posted has been confirmed to have been the practice up to now by many posters. Edog11 first posted this months if not years ago and others including me are just re-summarizing that correct and very carefully verified practice.

So it is thoroughly confirmed as practice to date. However, if you mean, has it been confirmed explicitly by Sprint ahead of time for *future* dates yet to come (such as yours), the answer is there is no way to get Sprint to confirm anything reliably as to their future billing. You may get varying answers. Nevertheless you can call Retentions if you want confirmation by Sprint.

If you want to go by the most conservative advice, port out by the end-of-month date listed for your account. Some people are advising that as it is always possible Sprint could change practice to a more literal interpretation of free plan (and extension) end date.
I am chatting with a sprint rep now, and he is saying that i am charged at the end of the cycle, not at the beginning. I am so confused. He said: "Your bill cycle starts every 21st and end every 20th then the due is 21 days after your cycle close date.", He is saying that the last payment they collected on June 13 was for the April 21-May20 cycle. So the next payment on July13 will be for the may21-june20 cycle.

Can be done without creating an account at H2O. At their site, click Activate, enter info (you will need your Sprint account # and pin), select $10 pay-as-you-go plan. Funding the plan is optional (you can leave the air pin field blank).

This option works well for those who don't want to keep their numbers.

Just so people know, Sprint has a new offer of a free line for life for ONLY CERTAIN existing customers.

https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...on-us.html

I have no idea which accounts are eligible and which are not but if you log onto your account it will have messaging if you are eligible.

I do not have a free plan account any more to see if it is eligible. Kickstart is not eligible and SWAC is not eligible.

FAQs

Who is eligible for the Unlimited Line On Us promotion?
Existing Sprint customers who:

Joined Sprint prior to 6/17/2020.
Have an eligible plan.
Have at least one active voice line.
Are eligible to add a line of service on their account.

What plan is available with this promotion?
This line comes with the Unlimited Line On Us Plan which provides Unlimited talk, text and SD video streams at up to 480p, music at up to 500 Kbps, and gaming at up to 2 Mbps. During congestion, the small fraction of customers using more than 50GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization. Unlimited data on our network.

Is the line really free?
Yes! With this promotion, there is no monthly service plan charge!

How long is the line free?
The monthly service plan charge for the line remains $0/mo. for the life of the line and requires you to keep all current phone lines on your account active through June 30, 2021. Any modifications to your account, such as cancelling an existing line, changing plans on your account or transferring lines to another account may make you ineligible to continue receiving the Unlimited Line On Us Plan.

Why do I have to pay monthly taxes and fees when I don't have an active phone?
Your reserved line is just like any other line and therefore subject to standard fees and taxes even though you are not actively using the service.

How long do I have to activate a phone on my free line?
As long as you need! We'll keep the line active until you are ready to activate a phone, but why wait? Add a phone and start using your FREE Unlimited today!

That is true. Sprint bills in arrears.

But that is only a question of timing. It does not affect anything other than WHEN you will be billed..

Everything we have posted is correct.
