We got unlocked Iphone X. Trying to switch my Tello plan to this phone. Tello says it is not compatible. But Ting says your phone is compatible. What are we missing. i actually inserted Sprint SIM with Tello plan into Iphone X. Phone says, it has a lock with SIM card. Do i need to go to Apple store to fix it? I tried reaching out to Tello but no one is available. Are there any plans outside other than Tello?

Thanks

You cannot put the AT&T Model of iPhone X on Sprint, even unlocked. Maybe it will be possible after the merger gets to a later stage.

Ting can do 3 underlying carriers, not just Sorint.

Besides a phone being unlocked, it MUST be in a cellular provider's IMEI database.
If not, it'll be listed as incompatible for perhaps an unknown reason.

I have a phone that's unlocked and works with all GSM providers US/overseas, and with Sprint, but NOT with Verizon, and it is VoLTE capable as required by Verizon.

The reason in this case is that iPhoneX sold for AT&T has the old Intel chip set that cannot fo CDMA.

Just chatted with Tello rep. They told me, it is GSM only phone. It can not work with Sprint and Tello. Ting is suppose to work GSM network. What are the GSM alternatives of Tello with cheaper plans. It is for Kid. Tello $10 1GB plan with unlimited talk and text is working fine for him so far.

Just did some search on net. Hello Mobile has same matching plans. Phone is compatible with Hello Mobile. It is also Sprint MVNO. But Hello mobile says phone is compatible. It is kinda confusing.

Thanks

All here know you're good but are you clairvoyant too?

The person above didn't even mention that his iPhone X was an AT&T phone!
And Ting uses T-Mo.

Before you do that some posters here have stated caution about Hello's claim of unlimited data, it's unlimited at low speeds after the 15GB is reached.
Just to know if you don't already.
Search this thread for Hello mobile.

It was done but it was a bit messy, but $690 is in BFRGL 6x$115 available for the end of July.
I got duplicate sims for all phones so it looks like these orders somehow went thru twice with Verizon but not with BFRGL.

As long as you go thru BFRGL for the 6th line and you log-in with your Verizon account the $115 should be reflected in your account.
The Verizon promo is to BYOD and port a #. Having a Verizon account should not matter.
That's as much as I know guys, hope this helps!

Yup i just ended up doing that after logging in.

Thanks!

You can do that as long as you are aware that Hello mobile is probably the worst mvno in the United States in terms of customer service, false plan descriptions, billing practices, lost numbers. porting out, unavailability etc. By and large, people even on the relevant forum on reddit recommend strongly against them. To be fair, some people are happy with them.

Otherwise, for that phone, any ATT or Tmobile mvno is fine, including for example Mint, which is very popular.

Yes well Ting uses Sprint, Tmo and Verizon now so when Ting says it is compatible but Tello says no, then it is very likely to be the AT&T/TMobile model for iPhone X. That was a very common issue a while ago on this thread. Edog11 is actually the real expert but I learned the patterns from him.

Hello is primarily Sprint but where a customer's existing phone will not work on Sprint or there is no Sprint coverage in an area, they also have a TMobile affiliation that they use only for that situation.

I think that in a few months, as the TMobile-Sprint integration progresses, Tello is likely to be able to do activations on TMobile as well.

In the meantime, some other TMobile and AT&T mvno's are Mint (very popular), US Mobile, Red Pocket, Boom etc depending on your usage pattern.
(see https://prepaidcompare.net/).

Yes Swappa is good to sell but you may not need to, as you note.

Does Best Buy Kickstart require a new account? On bestbuy.com starting from the promotion page, after picking a phone for the plan it allows me to select "add a line" as an existing customer and get to checkout.
