Can I port in one line for BB kickstart, then later port in my tello account to replace the previous number? I could't find a good way to port out and keep my number yesterday, so I ported my free BYOD to tello. But I have one unused number from Visible, which can port in BB kickstart.
I have seen many people say it is ok to do that so I believe it is.

The account looks fine.
That is unfortunate about the delay in the port.
Thanks @comintel for everything you contribute, and appreciate the behind the scenes assist you did for my dad's old phone line!
it's been a great $$$ saving years here, bittersweet farewell to this great deal & thread with amazingly helpful folks!

Do I need to port all the lines through BB? Or it's like free BYOD, once you open one account, you can add lines later by same price.

You have to do each one separately with Kickstart.so you would have to.go through BB each time.

Anyone know of a quick and inexpensive way to port out just a # without device? Sprint still wont unlock my device even after 48 hours so I can't move it to Tello. It's a phone number I actually use so I can't use a dummy device. I had an Utra Mobile trial SIM that I thought I could use for the purpose (on a different unlocked phone), but it's for new numbers only unless I pay for a plan (minimum $14). I think I may have cut this one a bit too close. Oh well. I'll try to argue it if I get hit with a $60 bill.

ETA: I just found a spare Sprint SIM. I think I might be able to port to Tello after all....
ETA2: Done. Ported using a backup Sprint phone I happened to have. Hopefully it goes through before midnight?

lol. Sheer laziness. I was hoping the device would unlock so I wouldn't have to do anything else later. But a device swap (which is what I'll have to do now) was definitely what I should have done straight away. Oh well. Lesson learned.

And I think Tello was the way to go since I noticed I haven't used more than 50MB a month for the past three months straight. Who needs unlimited? Who's going anywhere? lol.

Happy (mobile or nonmobile) trails, everyone. May'all stay 'rona free!

One to tello, which is having some particular Sprint issues completing the port over. Tello says they have had the number the past few days but says the following: "during the numbers association with Sprint it created a conflict streaming from September 2018, apparently this number had ported out of their system on that date and it created such conflict we are now trying to resolve it." My dad's been without his beloved number for the past few days Frown
.....
I would not hesitate to escalate it. This can be done with a positive tone and is not a negative thing to do when needed.

One way would be email [email protected]

Another way would be, post a new thread in reddit r/sprint and ask for help. There are powerful Sprint staff lurking there who often get involved.

Good idea, I'll try reddit out tomorrow if things don't sound like it's proceeding with Tello's side, I'll then email Marci.
Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for that number. btw I can still contact Sprint porting even though Tello says they already have the number on their side? I know Tello's their MVNO but Sprint can still pull the strings?

I agree that some Sprint people are likely to tell you you have to deal only with Tello, but I think some may take a broader view since the matter is really under Sprint's control and Tello is waiting on Sprint for resolution, at least according to Tello.

One approach is simply to ask if someone could take a look at it at least.

Also you could ask.Tello if they are waiting on Sprint and if so if would it help if you contacted Sprint or ported the number out and back in or filed a. FCC request. They may move faster if they realize you do not intend to wait.
