I agree that some Sprint people are likely to tell you you have to deal only with Tello, but I think some may take a broader view since the matter is really under Sprint's control and Tello is waiting on Sprint for resolution, at least according to Tello.

One approach is simply to ask if someone could take a look at it at least.
Got it, very true, thanks as always for your help!

Cheapest and most reliable way to keep my number and make maybe 1 call or text a month? What do you think of Freedompop/TextNow/Google voice? Or something else?

Hey, the Sprint offers to come back to Sprint just got worse.
It's now $100/$150 instead of $100/$250!

Oh I see you are right at
https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...print.html

Another sign I guess of the merger having effects.

Stores are completely merging by August 2. There will b e no Sprint-only stores after Aug. 2. (But the combined store chain will be able to handle all accounts of either original carrier).

Thanks. The $300 is showing my card after I add that I am porting my number. How do I know if I will get $115 BFRGL as this seems to be adding a line which gets $30 BFRGL?
Is this the Verizon promo with $300 GC which is technically not a $300 GC but can only be used on Verizon ?

Confirmation that Free Unlimited Line On Us ends 7/2:

You better do it decide soon. The free line deal ends tomorrow night.
That was posted on 7/1 so the plan ends today 7/2. In the past you could sign up right up to midnight or 1 am Eastern time on such occasions.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...dium=web2x

However I would note that this offer is not attractive to most free plan account holders because they would be forced to hold onto existing lines at high prices for a year to be qualified.

Kickstart and SWAC users will find it attractive if they are eligible.

So if you're on BYOD free for a year, it's over today and you must port out or be charged? I have nowhere to port to and not driving to get a SIM. Ugh.

I saw that some are having problems with Sprint signal strength.

New TMobile is already starting to convert some Sprint towers to TMobile 5G and LTE.

Also, some Sprint lines have already been converted to prefer TMobile towers and this is going to continue in waves.

Either of these can make things better or worse, temporarily at least, depending on the local network situation.

'For those with problems, you can try asking Sprint support if the ROMAHOME service order code has been applied to your line(s). If not, you could try asking them to add it to see if that improves your signal by preferring TMobile (although the code might not stick in all cases).
.
If it is already on, you could try having them take it off and block it (there is another SOC code to block it). This would put you back on Sprint's network.

Another way in Android is to block the bands that are weak. One way to do that on Samsungs is the band selection app:https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...eds_again/
What number do you know we should call for enabling ROMAHOME? I called tech support because I have 1x or no service, occasionally LTE but drop to 1x quickly. However all they did was to ask me go to my local Sprint repair saying one tower in my area has outage. I requested to enable ROMAHOME but was ignored. I have iphone 8. Don't know whether it is possible to enable ROMAHOME on this phone. TIA.

You could port to Tello using the same SIM card. Right now, you can get the first month of any plan for $4 (actually less using 15OFFAFF). You can combine it with a referral credit and use the Tello dollars to pay for the second month. If you don't want to stay with Tello, it at least buys you time to find another carrier.

ETA But I think you misunderstood the original post. He was talking about a different offer. I believe you still have until the end of your billing cycle to leave Sprint before the new rates kick in.

No for the original free plan you do indeed have until the end of your billing cycle that was current on June 30.

I was talking about the deadline for signing up for the new free plan, which is indeed ending today but is not attractive to most original free plan users.

Well unfortunately they have been told not to add ROMAHOME any more. Management wants it left to the system to decide who gets it. So it is pretty much impossible to get it added on request now.

With an iPhone you cannot select bands manually either.

They did move over more than a million phones but they selected which ones by location, coverage area, phone model, etc.

I do think there are good prospects that a user electable option will be coming fairly soon. There are massive changes to everything coming within weeks.
