Otterbox Defender Case for S8/S8+ - Starting at $26 FSSS

Amazon has the Otterbox Defender Case for the Samsung Galaxy S8+ in Black for $26.52 with free shipping:

https://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-D...B06XCSN5RJ - now $30.85

Based on CCC, the lowest price ever on Amazon was $25.66 at some point this morning, but it has gone up to $26.52 since then. The lowest price I found elsewhere for this case in black is $53 from the Otterbox site. Amazon has not had these in stock for a while until today.

Walmart has some other colors for $34 or $38: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Otter-.../887265375

The S8 (non plus) black case is also available on Amazon for $27: https://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-D...B00Z7TCISG

The reviews on this are pretty mixed. Just the heads up.

Otterbox is having a hard time adjusting to these bezel-less new phones on the market like the G6 and S8.

I have it on my s8+, spent about $49. This is a great deal, I've dropped it multiple times not a scratch a few times dropped on the screen, it's hard to explain. The rubber part at the top and bottom are pass the screen where it lands there when dropped.

Now I remember those old vids where otter box would drag a phone behind a car and they don't have any damage, consider that kinda protection gone for these kind of phones.

If you think about it the screen protector they usually use is a film type screen protector which is not really shock absorbent but scratch resistant what you get here is the opportunity to use your own tempered glass screen protector and that will offer shock absorbency.

Actually the screen protector they have is tempered glass, it's an addition $45. I wouldn't recommend it

Most of the bad reviews are from people who either complain about the $45 tempered glass protector or who complain about it not having a built-in protector. I personally don't want a screen protector on my phone, so I see it as a positive that they exclude it.

I've done a lot of phone-case research, and this is one of the few cases that actually comes up on the side high enough to protect the S8 from a side drop.

I don't care about the edge features. Any case out there which can protect the edges too?

From what I've read, the Otterbox Defender is the best at protecting the edge and has really good grip. The Incipio DualPro does, but it's slippery. The UAG Monarch does, but it's $60.
