Now I remember those old vids where otter box would drag a phone behind a car and they don't have any damage, consider that kinda protection gone for these kind of phones.

Actually the screen protector they have is tempered glass, it's an addition $45. I wouldn't recommend it
I've done a lot of phone-case research, and this is one of the few cases that actually comes up on the side high enough to protect the S8 from a side drop.
It does it's just plastic crap
