Mega-pissed off: Seat Belt Ticket - what next ...

2,046 778 November 22, 2008 at 03:44 PM
If this thread turns into a rabble mind-blindingly saying "oh, you need to wear your safety belt" than you can have this thread. If I dont want to wear a seat belt and I am driving alone, it is my business, not the states. Seat belt violations are what they are in some states (and some states dont consider it a primary violation, so they can't stop you for that alone) because when uninsured drivers go splat, its the state that has to pay for it. So, they came up with this fine to pay that and its another reason for them to stop you, as if they dont have enough bs in their traffic code. So that's it ... there is no discussion to be had or wanted to be had. This thread AINT for that.

Anyway ...

While coming to a traffic light, an officer hiding behind some cars at the street corner like a damn stalker pops out and starts shining a flashlight in cars to see if everyone has their belts on. This is friken insane to me. And I am thinking of the following:

1. This ticket wont likely be entered into the court for 2 weeks. I am moving next week and can get a license in another state. It's also a non-moving violation. In all likelihood, when I get the new states license there will be no way for them to know, for those reasons, and I do not believe there is a nationwide database setup at this time. So, I will just blow off the ticket, thank you very much. Hope you enjoyed wasting your time writing it. The state can send as many letters as they want, they will make good kindling, and I doubt I'll be in any trouble with the new state for a non moving violation. If I am, screw it, I'll walk. If they issue a bench warrant, I'll have a new license in a new state with a new address. I doubt that new address, etc will be in their system, so who cares.

2. When I return to this town, I will no longer go downtown via main roads, nor will I buy any food, gas, etc from this town. I have already written a note to go out to the clerks office stating as much: that while they get this tax money, I will make sure they get nothing else that I can avoid, therefore, in the long run, you lose. Suck it. And if they dont read it, I could give a damn, it's still getting done.

3. Tinting my windows triple black. If you want to see if Im wearing my seatbelt, you better have superman hovering over me or a sledge hammer.

Any other viable suggestions ... have at it. Still want to whine about how "you need to wear your seat belt?" What the hell is wrong with you? Do you smoke? Do you drink? Do you drive while talking on your cell phone? Do you eat a lot of fast food? Yeah, go whine about that to yourself and assert how you'll change tomorrow.

You don't have to do anything you want, but a law is a law, and if you choose to violate that law, then you have no right to bitch when it gets enforced.

There is a thread that just got started about misquotes ... the first post's quote is applicable here. If you want to accept something as a law as being unquestionable, that's all you. But laws I dont agree with I will break drunk or sober. And I'll add: I use to wear my seat belt, until I was in Washington state 8 years ago and some dude I was in the car with said "click it or ticket." I didnt know what the hell he was talking about, but that phrase was drilled in this idiots head. I started seeing billboards for it and it pissed me off. So, now I wont wear it. I dont need mommy and daddy telling me to clean my room and if I dont, I get grounded.

Comfort There, there, rant away.

You can do anything that you want to do as long as you're willing to pay the consequences.

I'm not sure what you are looking for here other than a right to rant, so go right ahead.

You are totally right and hey while you are at it screw the warning labels on medicine, run with scissors, throw sharp objects in the air and catch them, don't use the safety on your gun, pet stray dogs, and let strangers into your home. Fark the man!

Hey irony here:

Wasn't the one guy that was a big opponent of the seat belt law killed in a car wreck because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt Scratchchin
