Guides to flash, may be outdated so check edit date.

Beware these are probably refurbished units, these units get hot, you may want to add a fan to make your purchase last longer, esp on a refurb labeled openbox by tanga.
ADD A FAN TO COOL THE ROUTER! [snbforums.com]

Just a note I picked one of these up awhile back and tried to flash the firmware following instructions found on slickdeals. I managed to semi-brick my router because the instructions failed to mention the need to flash from a firmware that lets the router access 32mb of its flash to one that lets it use 64mb. I'm hoping I can resurect it using a USB to TTL cable. Hopefully it works when I try tonight: https://www.snbforums.com/threads...lin.29077/

How can it be "New" when it's Open Box?

Why was the box open?

Open Box = Not New

And only a 30 day warranty? Pretty sure a new one has a much longer warranty.

Very good router. Probably worth a shot at this price. The new one's for $60 won't be back IMHO.

It's a great Router once you convert it to the Asus variant. Open box or not, it's going to be hidden away anyway.

An open-box item looks and feels brand new, although may show very minimal signs of use.

T-Mobile Branded... Hmm, wonder if they differ from the normal off-the-shelf version?

Not new! Also the same defective routers they've been pushing for months. Lots of re-returns that have been re-recertified. Good luck to whoever jumps on this.

Did you just flash the Asus RT-AC68U firmware or did you do something else? I got this free from TMo a couple years ago and I don't feel like the firmware gets updated on it, amazing router though. I'd be interested in converting it to Asus only and I don't really wanna load on Merlin or DDWRT etc.
