Yes this is a repost. But a more-valid one than most.
This deal was announced/active two weeks ago and visible as a FP deal. For some reason the listed price for the deal was the middle model at $1144, even tho info was included of the $883 lowest model. This deal at least highlights the "starting at" price.
OP I would suggest you give references to that OG posting before you get downvoted.
Correct. This model does not have the performance base. You can tell because it is rated at 12 hours of battery life, whereas the SB with PB is rated at 16 hours.
Have you guys ever opened your Surface Book while it's on your laptop? The fulcrum hinge actually bites into your legs if you're not careful. I returned it because I don't tolerate quirks like that for a $1000+ laptop.

Yes, I have heard this complaint before and believed it to be partially legitimate before I bought mine. However, not once have I been able to duplicate it. I have tried numerous times to make it happen on my thighs, forearms, stomach, and even my neck. While pushing it hard against my skin, it doesn't even grab the hairs on my very hairy legs. Even if it were something I could duplicate, it would still be just about the pettiest BS of a reason to return something.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back, let's just put it that way.
That and other things like Windows Hello not activating every time, faulty pixels across the upper screen, limited tilt angle, and awkward resistance with opening the laptop just didn't help the price tag as well as the refurbished qc.
I got mine from the previous Newegg flash deal that came with Microsoft complete warranty and have been very impressed with this laptop. I replaced a surface pro 3 and I love the form factor of the surface book. It works as a better laptop then the sp3 and screen is amazing. Can easily be detached in clipboard mode which is useful for reading articles and ebooks. Battery life is excellent and I can get well over 10 hours browsing the web.
