Agreed. Great sound. Hate the flat-style stock cable. Haven't use the cipher, but it makes me almost wish I had an iPhone - these seriously need an amp (Fiio E17 is sufficient for my portable use).

Couple questions before I drop a few bills on this.

Will this work well with the MacBook Pro Late 2017 edition? It has two lightning ports.

Also, will this work on my custom built PC with a 3.5 mm jack?

I do intend to buy an amp and DAC in the future but was wondering if it was absolutely necessary since I have a MacBook Pro and if I could get by with a 3.5 mm jack with my custom built pc?

Tmk - stock cable has 3.5 mm jack and cipher cable has lightning connector - you should be good with both of your options ! My favorite set up is paired Fostex hp p1 and hp v1 ! Little tube amp gives 'em a kick ! Wink
