edit: Please read the original post and not the incorrect details on the next post. This deal is correct as posted. Disney HD movies are on sale starting at $8.99 (Hocus Pocus on Amazon). The majority are $11.99 (on Amazon) or $12.99 elsewhere. This IS for HD quality. On Google Play you may have to click the first price to see the HD sale price. The FP editor completely butchered this deal.


Amazon, Google Play, Microsoft and iTunes have select Disney "Halloween" titles on sale for $9 - $13. They are regularly priced $15 - $20. Most do not have a digital code available anywhere, not in a DVD, not in a Blu-ray. If you want a digital version you have to buy it direct. If you don't like the digital movie concept or if you think Disney prices their products too high this is not for you.

All are DMA titles and will transfer to connected services such as Vudu, Google Play, iTunes etc.

Always make sure the partners are connected via DMA BEFORE purchasing and always verify pricing.

Hocus Pocus, Escape to Witch Mountain, Return from Witch Mountain, The Haunted Mansion and The Black Cauldron have no digital codes.

I remember them sending me the letter posted on the article. Basically any prior purchases will still be accessible without a problem but any new purchases will not be. I bought Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales after this was announced and it works on the partner sites I have linked EXCEPT Windows or Xbox--they come up as I have to buy them

Again? Its not true. There was a moment when it was thought they were no longer but it was a glitch. The articles were ultimately proved wrong. Some times it will show you need to purchase as they've never had it all together like the others do but they are definitely part of DMA. If you are connected when you purchase, the DMA title will port. Please don't keep posting.

Or another idea, just buy from the other sites.

Its in the OP. All titles are DMA. If ever in doubt go to the website and search.
Thanks. As far as I can tell, the OP says that DMA movies will transfer, but not which titles are DMA. I'm looking on iTunes and I'm having trouble finding where it says whether it's DMA.

Note on Frankenweenie: The Blu-Ray & Dvd Combo is also redeemable for 1000 DMR (i.e. $10) shipped from Disney if you do Disney Movie Rewards as of yesterday, when I ordered it. I haven't received it yet but I'm pretty sure it DOESN'T include the Digital Copy. I'd prefer digital versus messing around with hard copy BR discs but I figured I could rip it to Plex at the worst. Plus I'll probably get 150-200 DMR for the combo making it truly <$9.

Anyway, hope that helps someone....

I am the OP. I told you they are all DMA, also told you how to verify if you are unsure. I clarified in the OP, HTH.

edit: When I said to check the site to determine what is DMA I meant www.disneymoviesanywhere.com Search for a movie and see if it has a buy option.

I have bought from the other sites. Bought Pirates 5 from ITunes and Microsoft is the only partner that will not transfer. Tried linking it back via DMA just now and the site says "There was a problem connecting your Microsoft account." I have no problem being proven wrong and my intent was to help people from making a purchase from Microsoft if it wasn't going to post to the others. If it was a glitch then I will gladly contact DMA and see why they won't allow MY Microsoft account to post

I bought Pirates yesterday (not from Microsoft) and its in all my connected DMA partner including Microsoft. There was/is a glitch but as I keep saying Microsoft is still part of DMA. Call Disney and ask.

That would be tempting if the digital copy is included. I also haven't dived into the Plex world but pretty invested into DMA/Vudu

I told Strife01 via PM that there was/is? an issue where MS accounts got disconnected from DMA and can't be re connected. It is being worked on. Why it hasn't been fixed yet I do not know but Microsoft is still part of DMA. If your DMA account is connected to MS (check via the DMA site under Account) DMA titles will port in and out.

Thanks. Yeah, mine's disconnected and I can't connect it, so I'm worried about both the portability of MS movies, and I was worried about the possibility that other Disney movies might not port from any particular service.

I'm going to buy these on Microsoft because I have gift certificates. I hope they will port some time in the future.
