If you are a science fiction fan and somehow have not read this yet, this is a great opportunity to see where the cyberpunk concept came from. You now, those crazy 1980s waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the ancient 20th century... LMAO

Great book! Worth pointing out though that this is the 3rd novel in the Sprawl Trilogy. While each of the 3 books stand on their own, I would still suggest reading Neuromancer and Count Zero first!

I would say Gibson (along with PKD) basically set the stage for all of the popular SciFi we're enjoying in the 21st century. If you enjoyed The Matrix and have never read the Sprawl Trilogy... You've got some catching up to do.

Gibson is possibly the most prescient modern scifi author.

My top sci-fi authors in no particular order are William Gibson, Jack McDevitt, Walter Jon Williams, Phillip K Dick, Isaac Asimov, and Harlan Ellison.

Gibson is a sci-fi warhorse. If you have a public library, they have his books.

As GioD suggested, I would read Neuromancer and Count Zero first.

Mona Lisa overdrive, booty super wide
Ravishing, voluptuous, a player magnetized
Mona Lisa over drive, heaven synthesized
The way you bust a shorty got me feeling crucified
