This is an all sold wood guitar with an ebony bridge and ebony fret board. I Think the guitar top is torrified as well.

"A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
A.R.E. is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years."

Seems like a legit deal of the day, $799 everywhere. I need an acoustic with a built in pickup but I just can't seem to pull the trigger on this one.

I bought one right when I got the email from Musicians Friend. 20 minutes later I get an email saying it has been back ordered. This was around 9 AM EST.

edit: just read the email more carefully....my "Musicians Friend Free 2-Year Warranty" is the backorder....WTF...

I had the same issue and called. Customer service said its a glitch in the system saying the warranty was on backorder. She said to ignore it.

I have stalked prices on these L series for a couple years. For new, this is a very good price. The rosewood is normally more than the mahogany. I saw a good condition used go for $279 in the mahogany, and a lot sell (both wood types) used for $300-375. So, for new rosewood, nice deal! Slick, in fact. I took the chance of waiting this AM to buy. I held out in hopes of them putting the dark tinted on sale ... Hooray! They did and I'm in. This guitar sounds amazing, plays stellar, and has a pickup system that is awesome. I could have gotten a used one at Guitar Center for less, but hey, why not go Stupid Smilie

WHat is the "form case", can't find it on yamaha's website. Soft or hard shell?

Got mine... I have always used jumbos and dreadnoughts. The size took some adjusting to. I love the kneck of this guitar. It feels "right" in my hand. Build is very good. Tone is pretty good, but not as full sounding as a jumbo. However, I am pretty sure that if you want a Jumbo to get that tone, you will spend more than 1k, so it is a nice compromise. Using a capo makes the guitar sound a little weird. Very odd. It is hard to explain. It just looses something. I am pretty sure the pick ups are junk, but I do not have a acoustic amp to verify. For that price, it is a pretty good buy.
