How does the i5 6200 compare to the more recent chips?
There is supposedly quite a diff. The current gen is supposed to be around 30% percent faster than the previous generation. This one is two generations older than the current one. But if you are using this just for emails, browsing and watching videos it shouldn't matter

It would be a home laptop for work. It would be used mainly for deep excel work and VPN system access to work from home. Been wanting an SSD with at least 8gig memory and decent processor for less than $500 from a dependable company. I also want it to be fairly usable in the next 5-7 years.
