Trying to regain market share
You mean buy the Intel if you want to see them outperform AMD in 1080p gaming?

Get out of here. 8700k is like in the $400s and about to be an obsolete, AGAIN.

You can use Nvidia with an AMD CPU, btw.
They've already made their money. The yields for the Zen chips are 99% so they basically have no waste. This allows them to sell these cheap without really taking any loss on them and mindshare is more important now than just pure profit.

AMD is killing themselves with these price cuts. i've never seen a company so needlessly hell bent on destroying their own bottom line.

Intel is crushing it with the i5 8600k and i7 8700k. No reason to buy AMD unless you are building a 1080p sub $750 computer.

Is it best to wait for the next gen CPU? I heard that the new generations are going to finally be a drastic upgrade than these ones which provide minimal upgrades.
I have i5 2500k and o.c. it to 4.2, but it is starting to have trouble handling newer games.
